Bill Battle has dropped the ball repeatedly and needs to go unless he can pull a Mal Moore and go get Archie Miller. Alabama just got humiliated by Wichita State.
If Battle hires Rich Pitino after letting Howland go to Miss State, he should pack his bags. Little Pitino will get his lunch money taken on the regular by Pearl, Howland, Donovan, Cal, Barnes, etc

Battle fricking blew this. I know some of you will say "At least he went for a home run," but you don't do that at the risk of not having a Plan B.

He's a complete disaster as an AD. First, he was involved in selling anything in the athletic dept. for a buck. Want your name on this conference room? For a $10,000 donation, this will be the Mike Hunt Conference Room.
Then there was the decree prohibiting the club teams from using the script "A" on their uniforms. Never mind they were representing the school they love so much, they are paying out of their own pocket to field a team. Like the Frozen Tide. Can't have a Frozen Tide sweater because good ole Daddy Warbucks Battle saw people using the script "A" without proper licensing an authority and by God, they were making a buck or two! Yeah, it was to support their club team, but who cares, that's Bama's bucks and Lord knows the athletic dept. doesn't make enough money!!
There was also the little fiasco with the women's basketball player who the new coach royally screwed over with the blessing and assistance of one BB.
Finally, we get to the Grant debacle which has been a cluster f*ck since Battle took the helm. The man should have been fired after last season and maybe, just maybe, we wouldn't be in the sh*tstorm we're in right now. Instead, we let AG steal another year's salary and further damage the basketball program and was going to let him stay AGAIN but for the backlash he received from some of the big money basketball donors and the hoardes of fans. Now, he goes out to Wichita waving neon signs and banners about how we're going to pay this much to land Coach Marshall and then he gets turned down. So now every coach with a pair will tell him if you want me, I want the Marshall plan.

I have no issue at all with the way Battle has handled the bball program or the coaching search. If Bama gets a good coach, that is all that matters.

I haven't heard about this. What happened here? To the OP, not a fan. He annoyed me with spamming my email account with his battle plan, and then the recent coaching stuff. I actually prefer him to JBo, the university president though.

Thanks, but it's the truth. I've seen either bad decisions or no decision from this man and I'm very worried he's going to do some real damage before he leaves. Battle may be a good businessman, but he wasn't too good as a coach and he's not much better as an AD. He needs to go like yesterday.

I turned against him after he kept AG on another year. That's all I needed to see.
