I've known Tanner Burns since he was born - he and my son are in the same grade.
People around here are SHOCKED.
The Burns family are HUGE Bama fans and I really don't understand this move at all.
Unless his dad has some kind of bad history with Goff. His dad played pro ball and is a JUCO head baseball coach currently.
Really weird.

His dad is Mike Burns and he played for the Astros and is now the HC at Calhoun CC.
Tanner's granddad and uncle both played football at Bama.
I just wonder if his dad knows some stuff about Goff he doesn't like.
If you aren't sure about a new coach, I can see decommiting and exploring options.
But when you decommit and the immediately commit to the instate rival, the day after a coach is hired - that says you KNOW something about that new coach that you don't like and want to send a message.

You said Burns dad coaches at a Juco. Goff recruits Jucos heavily. They have undoubtedly crossed paths sometime.

A little late but Goff got a 2017 commitment from RHP Noah Fondren of Cullman.
