I tried following along from the ballpark but had emotionally tuned out when Bama was down 1-0 and had 2 outs in the 7th. Jenna freaking Johnson
.
Any win’s a good one and this was a good one. Need the one tomorrow too ladies!
Seventh Inning Heroics Push Alabama to Series-Clinching Win over Ole Miss
Down to its last out, Jenna Johnson blasted a three-run home run to give the Crimson Tide the lead
Down to its last out trailing 1-0, a clutch three-run home run from Jenna Johnson pushed Alabama ahead of Ole Miss, 3-1, and a 1-2-3 bottom half of the inning secured the comeback victory and the weekend series for the Crimson Tide.
The win gives Alabama (38-16, 14-9 SEC) the series over Ole Miss (28-25, 7-16 SEC), as the Tide has now won 17 of its 18 three-game series all-time vs. the Rebels. Eight of those series wins have come in Oxford and a win tomorrow would mark the Tide's 14th three-game sweep and its eighth on the road vs. Ole Miss.
The win is also Alabama's first this season when trailing after six innings, falling in its previous 13 opportunities. The Tide's last seventh-inning comeback came in a walk-off win at home over Mississippi State last season (April 15, 2022).
Alabama and Ole Miss were scoreless until the Rebels broke through with an RBI groundout in the bottom of the fourth to plate the first run of the game. The score remained the same heading to the seventh, as the Tide had stranded a runner on base in each of the first five innings. Emma Broadfoot started the top of the seventh with a single and Kali Heivilin followed with another base hit two batters later to push the potential tying run into scoring position with one out. After a first-pitch ball, Johnson crushed a line drive over the left field fence as the three-run home run put Alabama ahead 3-1. Montana Fouts (22-8) and the Tide defense retired Ole Miss in order in the bottom half to secure the win and the weekend series.
Johnson's home run was her third of the season, her first since March 5 against Mercer. The three RBIs ties her season high and are her highest total in conference play this year. Broadfoot went 2-for-3 at the plate, her fifth multi-hit game of the season, while Ashley Prange drew a career-high three walks to extend her reached base streak to eight games. Fouts allowed just the one run on three hits, striking out nine for her second win of the weekend.

Five runs in bottom of the 7th, most of them off Fauts. Did not see that coming.
Edit, 4 runs. Still bad.

the descision by the first baseman did not help..What a way to lose a game. We have seen signs of Fouts doing this all year where she has a big inning to the other team

Ouch - no double bye for you!

The Crimson Tide blew a 4-1 lead in the final inning to drop the final game against the Rebels.

going to be hard to advance deep without the double bye since Fouts is all we got. Alex is good but has a great game then an average to bad game. Today she was good and not sure why she was pulled

Arkansas lost so if Bama had won it would have meant a double bye
Now Bama will face the winner of Miss State vs LSU. If Bama wins that one on Wednesday, Arkansas awaits on Thursday.
(Edit: found a better picture of the bracket)

Alabama's Larissa Preuitt Named SEC Softball Freshman of the Week
The outfielder collected eight hits for the Crimson Tide in the series win over Ole Miss.
Alabama softball had one of its best weekends at the plate in the series win over Ole Miss in the regular season finale, and a big part of that success was thanks to Larissa Preuitt.
Because of her performance over the three games, Preuitt has been named SEC Softball Freshman of the Week. She is the first Alabama player to win this award since 2020.
The freshman outfielder from Hartselle, Alabama went 8-for-11 against the Rebels with three doubles and three RBIs and a stolen base. She game out of the gates hot with a 4-for-4 game in the series opener, and stayed hot at the plate and moved up in the lineup as the series went on. She improved her batting average more than 30 points on the weekend from .237 to .269.
In media availability leading up to the series, Preuitt said she wanted to be more scrappy at the plate. It paid off for the Crimson Tide this weekend.
It marks the fifth weekly award for an Alabama player from the Southeastern Conference this season alongside Montana Fouts' four SEC Pitcher of the Week awards. Preuitt's award is the 24th time a Crimson Tide player has won SEC Freshman of the Week.
Alabama has now wrapped up regular season play with a 38-17 (14-10 SEC) record and earned the 5-seed in the SEC Tournament. The team will open play at the tournament in Arkansas Wednesday against the winner of the 12/13 game between Missouri and Mississippi State.
