Hard to fault him for not challenging one of the greatest dynasties college sports has ever seen, although he should have recognized the migration to a power hitting game. He’s a bit of an anti-Oats on analytics and modernization of the game.
But I absolutely fault him for making mistakes that most 10yr old travel ball coaches wouldn’t make. That just can’t happen, and it’s likely costing his team a shot at the WCWS.

Auburn/Clint Meyers showed that Murphy is a good but not great coach. It took him less than a year to make Auburn a better program.
Oklahoma and Florida have routinely been better. Heading into next year, Texas and aTm have more momentum. Throw Tennessee and Arkansas in there as well.
Next year if the program doesn’t add power and put an emphasis on the offense - they’ll only fall further behind. The days of winning the conference with a dominant pitcher and an average offense are long gone. It’s not 2010 anymore.

And he’s not learning a damn thing. He will walk out of that dugout next spring playing small ball and pitching. OU and Texas will annihilate this team next year.
Everybody sees it, including Byrne. Murphy has to go and it’s already about 4-5 years too late.

So sorry for these girls. They have really tried to do the best they can. However, I have never seen such unconfident players with college scholarships step up in challenging situations and totally lose their mind.

This. They don’t look like they think they can win this. At the plate it’s most obvious.

First pitcher whose arm falls off loses?

Borderline strike hits the batter. That sucks.

Beavers won’t be to blame if it’s her. She’s single handed kept us in this game since she came in.
Anemic offense and bad base running is to blame.

That’s my biggest gripe. It’s been the same issue for at least five years now.

Got to win it here. Beaver at 165 pitches

Beavers in the toughest spot gets the ground out. Now bats do something please.

The UT coach is insufferable by the way.

Ump completely squeezed her with bases juiced and she still got out of it. Someone needs to carry Beaver off the field if we somehow win this series
