Will probably never been an elite NFL QB, but I really think he can be a solid starter who wins some playoff games.

quote:

Not to be outdone was the undrafted rookie free-agent from Alabama. Yes, I’m talking about White. At 5-11, 193, White showed off his deep speed time and time again as he caught numerous deep balls including a 55-yard catch. A play that had Forever Faithful screaming at the top of their lungs, White quickly became a fan favorite on the night.

Always thought White had untapped potential. Hope he is one of the next UDFA successes in the NFL.

Sidenote: If Lacy/Ingram/Yeldon all get 1k yards, the perception of Bama backs in the NFL (though Lacy/Ingram the last two years have been good) should definitely shift. Hope they all have success. Still holding out hope for T-Rich...but it isn't looking good.

Roster is updated as of 8-2-15. This includes some players who will likely be cut in the race to 53. I'll try to stay on top of it. Currently, there are 54 former Crimson Tide players on NFL rosters from 27 NFL teams.

Let me know if I missed anything. All teams/positions per LINK

Some speculation that Trent's weight is keeping him off the field. Not so much twinkie weight, but it sounds like he is lifting too much:

quote:

Up to now, Jack Del Rio had not divulged any details on the two players except to say they were "day to day" and that their issues weren't major.

Today following practice he noted that Streater and Richardson have different issues they're dealing with and expanded upon Richardson's situation, notably that it is a weight issue.

"Trent is here, he came back very close to the weight, which was a pretty ambitious goal to get to and he's down in the low 220s," said Del Rio. "That's what we asked of him, that's where he was as a player at 'Bama. I really believe with him committing himself like that and getting himself in that type of shape, he'll have a chance to come out here and show what he's really capable of."

Wait, so he IS at the weight they asked him to be at? The situation implies he isn't, but the quote implies he is.

I couldn't figure that out myself.

FWIW, Michael Dyer is also in Oakland and has been doing well. He might edge out TRich for a roster spot.

The interesting thing about White is there was A LOT of off-season hype around him in each of his first 2 years at Bama. As in it sounded like he was going to be the heir apparent to Julio. Of course it never materialized. If he hadn't gotten hurt in '12, who knows? Anyway, hopefully this time around he's able to play up to the hype once the season starts.

Didn't Evan Mathis latch back on with someone?

Not yet. Last I saw, the Jets were talking with him but his price was too high.

Interested to see how Dickson does with the Patriots. He's one of those relatively unheralded college players I could see having a decent NFL career if he finds his niche. He had a really good year for us last year and followed it up with a phenomenal showing at the combine.

Also hoping Jesse is fully recovered and will get to show what he's capable of when healthy.

He's probably in the best place he could be for that. BB and company are the best in game for utilizing a certain players skill set IMO.

I've waited a long time for a UA alum on the Gmen. LC will start this year, I really hope he's closer to HaHa than Barron.

A far cry from 2007 numbers.

barron is not nearly as bad as everyone seems to think he is. he logged 176 tackles and 16 passes defended and 3 ints in his first 2 years, was on pace for over 100 tackles last year before he was traded, and then had to adjust to a whole new defense. he got burned a few times badly last year, but he is a solid nfl safety
