Y’all think we’ll have full crowds by January? Or at least by late in the year?

Wade is on tape admitting to paying players and LSU fans are calling this a witch hunt. They're the most delusional group of people I've ever been around. And it's about EVERYTHING, not just this, or even just sports.
Deep down they all know that Yaw Yaw is as dirty as they come too, so the prospect of the NCAA snooping around Baton Rouge absolutely terrifies them.

Cecil interview with Oats
If he is better than Petty and Shack from 3 then Holy shite. We are a far way away from the Grant and Avery days where we had 1 maybe 2 guys that could sometimes shoot 3s

Keon Eliis (a junior college transfer) has been really good offensively, probably our leading 3-point shooter so far.

If that’s true, it’s going to be scary how good he can be. He’s a guy that uses shot fakes to perfection, has a nice handle and step back move and looks the part of a good finisher as well. If y’all haven’t seen his YouTube highlight video that came out a couple weeks ago, I’d encourage you to check it out. He has a lot of scoring tools. LINK

The players that we have on this roster that could somewhat reasonably be an NBA draft pick as soon as next year (if they’d be okay with being a 2nd round pick): Petty, Jones, Bruner, Primo, Ellis, Tchikou, Quinerly and Shackelford. Of the ones I just listed Shackelford may be the least likely, but that’s only because of his size and lack of elite athleticism for a 2-guard. That’s absurd. That leaves only 5 scholarship players that likely won’t be on or near the draft radar.

I hope they find a way to play the Maui tournament. I honestly think we got a chance to win the thing

“At this time, we expect the Maui Jim Maui Invitational to proceed as scheduled,” KemperLesnik said in an emailed statement Thursday. “The Tournament is evaluating various contingencies should the event not be played on Maui due to the pandemic. Our top priority remains the health and safety of our players, staff and dedicated fans.”
The final determination on the event appears to be less than a month away.
“The Tournament is working with participating schools and its college basketball partners to monitor the NCAA’s decision expected in mid-September regarding the start of the college basketball season to understand how it could affect the 2020 Maui Jim Maui Invitational,” the statement concluded.

Sources: If college basketball begins on 11/25 or 12/4, Mohegan Sun has emerged as a bubble location to host teams in December that were scheduled for the following early season events:
Empire Classic
Gotham Classic
Legends Classic
Hall-of-Fame Tipoff
Hall-of-Fame Invitational
That’s one potential bubble.

Oats waiting on scheduling guidance from NCAA as Crimson Tide prepares

“He is still learning the flow of the game,” Oats said of Tchikou “He’s raw but he has a really really huge upside. He’s long and he’s been hitting 3’s. He is built like Donta Hall, a little taller, maybe not quite as explosive athletically but picture a Donta who can put the ball on the floor and shoot the 3-point shot.
”I’d say the (new) player who has been the most consistent has been (Josh) Primo,” Oats said. “He works every day. He’ll be in the gym three times a day. Keon Eliis (a junior college transfer) has been really good offensively, probably our leading 3-point shooter so far. (Yale transfer Jordan) Bruner will help us. James Rojas, who is almost like a new player because he was injured all year last year, has had his best week. He is getting more comfortable with his knee and he really brings some toughness. I guess you could call (Jahvon) Quinerly new, too. He hasn’t been 100 percent but the last couple of days he’s looked like he looked last year (when he sat out an NCAA-imposed redshirt season) and that’s good.
“JP (John Petty) is still getting back in shape but here is one thing about him,” Oats said. “He has three years of SEC experience, even more (playing time) than Herb (Jones) has. There is a value to that. Not many other guys on the team has that understanding of what it takes.”

Yes. Bubble up teams scheduled to be in multiple non-conf tournaments together and at least play 8-10 non-conf games just to give the committee something to go off of

Bruner will help us.
A little surprised that’s all he had to say about him. Maybe he realizes we already know he’ll be a big impact.

Yeah, he's spoken very highly of Bruner many times before, so he's probably just trying to spread the love knowing that everyone on the team is going to be aware of of his comments whether they read it themselves or have family and friends share it with them.
I'd like to think that one of the big things that Oats can/will learn from Saban is getting a point or message across to the team through the media when need be.
