Looks like Petrutz is back ?
That sure makes it sound like he is. He’s in some MLB draft projections (#118 in one Roger posted) so I assumed he would at least test the waters. Maybe he’s got too much Bama in him.

I’d think he’s back pending what happens in the draft.

Alabama shortstop Justin Lebron was invited to the 2024 USA Baseball Collegiate National Training Camp, USA Baseball announced.
Lebron is one of 56 of the premiere non-draft eligible collegiate players who were invited to Cary, N.C., for the summer. The group will take part in a two-game Stars vs. Stripes intrasquad from June 26-27 at the USA Baseball Complex. USA Baseball will then split the collection of players into two rosters. The International Friendship Series roster will take on Chinese Taipei in a five-game series, while the Summer League Tour roster will square off with select teams from the Appalachian League and the Coastal Plain League over a four-game stretch. The summer slate will then culminate with a Fourth of July matchup between the two rosters in Fayetteville, N.C.
A full schedule with dates and times can be found here. LINK

One demerit for not keeping up with the fall commitments.
Per Roger, the new center fielder

Alabama shortstop Justin Lebron was selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Freshman All-America First Team, the NCBWA announced Monday.
Lebron is one of 34 standouts from the Division I level to be named to the NCBWA's Freshman All-America first and second teams for Division I. He becomes the first Crimson Tide player to earn first-team honors from the NCBWA since Thomas Burrows in 2014.

First, im pumped that there is a message board that talks about Bama Baseball.
As for Bama, first I really think JJ needs to go. Way too many pitching injuries and I just dont feel the bullpen is used correctly. I appreciate his work in the 22-23 season but we need a change.
Davis leaving, while I greatly appreciate his work last year, I feel is needed. Something was definitely wrong with him at the end of the year.
I think Hess stays. Not the season Im sure he envisioned. Miller is gone im sure.
Pray we get some pitching.

Welcome aboard! This is the most active Bama Baseball discussion I have found. The more the merrier.
Pitching was no doubt a disappointment but I think JJ will be here at least another year. We do seem to have a lot of injuries but I have no idea how it compares with other programs. I’ll be forever grateful for him holding the team together for that run last season.
Still can’t figure out what went wrong with Alton. I’d like to attribute it to the “sophomore slump” (which is probably a myth). Much like the Hayslip situation, I would have loved for it to have worked out. For whatever reason, it didn’t. He was always great when interacting with fans after the games. The fact he entered the portal with “do not contact” indicates he knew where he was going. Will be very interested to see where he winds up.
I think both Miller and Hess are gone (would love to have either or both of them back).

I’d like to thank the University of Alabama for my time spent with the program. With that being said I will be entering the transfer portal. I am playing in the Northwood league for the Royal Oak Leprechauns this summer!

Alton sitting at #69 in this ranking of players in the portal who have yet to announce a new school. He supposedly has a do not contact tag in the portal which would indicate he already knows where he’s going.

Perfect Games’ draft projections. Gage and Ben have remaining eligibility but I’m guessing they are gone so no asterisk for them?

Looking for more info but it looks like Jason Torres (Miami transfer) is coming to Bama

TRANSFER: Miami 1B Jason Torres has committed to Alabama. Slashed .331/.385/.529 with 8 homers in just 39 games. Pretty huge batted-ball data. Can play a little third base too.
Torres was a Top-15 non-draft eligible transfer portal prospect at @FSS_PLUS.
Impact bat.
