I’ve thought about making a Braves season long thread but Idk if Saint and Boz want something like that crowding the board.

Smith went four scoreless last time against Tennessee but had an early exit due to pitch count, if I recall. He was running out of gas

just now getting to check on this thread and saw the box score.

Hammiter at 1b is a big move and Pinkney in RF.

Guffey had a sold 3 innings in relief. This could be huge going forward if he is back 100

Six-Run Third Powers Baseball to 9-3 Win over South Carolina on Tuesday

quote:

Alabama baseball used a six-run third inning to put the game out of reach early on the way to a 9-3 win over No. 24 South Carolina on Tuesday afternoon at the Hoover Met. The win advances the Crimson Tide to the double-elimination portion of the 2021 SEC Tournament and sets UA at 30-22 overall on the season.
quote:

Tyler Ras picked up his seventh win of the season, the most wins by an Alabama pitcher since Geoffrey Bramblett had eight in 2015.

Alabama scored six runs in the top of the third, the Tide's most in a single inning in SEC Tournament history ( records since 2002).

Caden Rose finished with three runs to match his career-high total. The three runs also tie Alabama's single-game high in the SEC Tournament, which had been accomplished eight times previously, most recently by Kody Valverde against LSU on May 26, 2006 (records since 2002).

Big step today for @AlabamaBSB! Not one player on this team had played in the @SEC tourney before and they came in today and showed tremendous grit. I know the sessions is sold out tomorrow but still hope to see a bunch of our fans as we take on the Vols. #RollTide

After Blowout Win, Alabama Baseball Gleaming with Confidence in SEC Tournament (SI)

Despite not having a single player with SEC-tournament experience on its roster, the Crimson Tide shellacked South Carolina in the opening round and is now budding with confidence before it faces Tennessee on Wednesday

Prielipp to have Tommy John surgery tomorrow and be out for 2022. He will finish his Alabama career with 2 innings pitched in SEC play.

Seems about right.

Damn. I guess he wasn’t faking after all.

Alabama’s Prielipp Set To Have Tommy John Surgery

Alabama now presses forward at the SEC tournament knowing it won’t have Prielipp or fellow starting pitcher Antoine Jean, who’s also on the shelf for the duration of the season because of a shoulder impingement. Jean is expected to return to the mound at the Cape Cod League this summer.

Hell no - he'll be a 1st round pick in the draft - maybe a Top 15 pick - assuming he can throw for scouts in the late spring.

Apparently this fall he blew away everybody who saw him. That's where a lot of the #1 LHP in the 2022 draft reports came from. And, considering that TJ isn't a big deal at all anymore, it's not like there is going to be concern that he's damaged goods.
