You do know that for once we have the superior field goal kicker, right? I'm okay with a kicking battle

Love Talty, but zero faith in any Alabama kicker in JHS

I actually think last year’s Iron Bowl showed that our team got themselves up for that game albeit Milroe’s up and down nature caused some disjointed play.

I feel like Saban’s trouble with these games was his desire to stick to the process rather than treating the game like it was something special. This staff clearly gets themselves and the players honed in for the big ones. When we’d play Auburn on the road, I think we were a little bit more unprepared for the environment from the crowd and engagement from their players.

The exception to that was Adam Griffith in '15. 5 for 5 with a 50+ yarder if my memory serves. I think Gus put a player in the back of the endzone for the 50 yarder as well.

Didn't Griffith go 5/5 there in 2015?

I know he was much better than Talty, but still.

I've mentioned it in another thread but if you ever see their team auditorium, in big letters at the back, it's "BEAT BAMA". Not "WIN AN SEC TITLE" or "WIN A NATIONAL TITLE", Nope, it's "BEAT BAMA". It is why they'll always be a little program, an insignificant one. That said, the Iron Bowl is their 4th of July, New Years Eve, Christmas, Mardi Gras all rolled into one. I'm convinced their players all shot gun an entire gallon of double espresso before the game. Add to it the weird luck, weird circumstances, freak bounces of the ball that always goes their way, the absolutely horrible officiating that always goes their way, insane placing of the ball by the refs (when Bama has the ball, we will consistently get terrible spots, when they have the ball, they always get very generous spots). Finally, for whatever reason, Bama always seems to play really, really tense and nervous there. So weird. Even when Bama is clearly the better team, they STILL play really tight. I'm sure I'll get down voted but it's true.

This is the best explanation of the auburn mind I’ve ever seen.

Bama plays so tight in JHS i hope that DeBoer can figure out a way to harness their emotion into an arse kicking attitude like what we did to Tennessee.

Saban was just 5-4 there.

Jesus. Saban put EVERYONE ELSE away.

Auburn managed to hang around.

It is truly mind boggling. One of the most dominant runs in history and the barn manages to win a natty and play for another. And it took TWO miracle wins to get that 5-4 record.
