Marvin Constant Heck of a play, however, I think it was a career ending injury. Good player, out of Central (Tuscaloosa) high school. I can't remember the other player.

Bama had a starting linebacker out for the Sugar Bowl against Miami. He was injured but not from playing football. Who was he and how did he get injured?

Who was the Bama running back around 1970 who obviously played for Coach Bryant but also played for Woody Hayes @ Ohio St.?

Bama backup QB late 60s. Funny guy. Ate at my dining room table when I was a kid. I was in a wedding with him.

Michael Rogers, car wreck.
I ran into him years ago after he left college. Really nice guy but felt bad for him because I think if not for the wreck his name would have been mentioned every Sunday for a long time.

Dave Brungard was the guy who played at Ohio St. and Alabama. I think he was at Ohio St. first. I beleive he played on the first wishbone team which would be 1971, i think. Or was it 1970?

Does anyone know who this player was? I don't know.
I'm thinking this player likely played for Coach Bryant @ TaM or Kentucky then transfered. Nope that don't work. 1970 blows that out of the water. Why did he/she use the word obviously? Hmm
OL'DirtyCam, TideWarrior, Bama54, Any thoughts?

I was thinking while you were posting.
1969-70 were 6-5 years. You are correct in that 1971 was the first year for the Bama wishbone. As I remember, Terry Davis at qb with J. Musso at tailback, John Hannah at tackle, Wayne Wheeler at WR and some no account tight end. Who might that have been?
Sorry for the he/she thing, I

2Poop, I went to the Orange Bowl at the end of the '71 season. Nebraska had Jerry Tagge, Johnny Rodgers, Rich Glover, and Larry Jacobson . . . all-americans. It was ugly.

It was Brungard and it was 70. He and Johnny Musso came to my high school football banquet when I was in 10th grade. Brungard was the speaker. Johnny didn't like to say anything. Apparently he was very shy.
Bama was recruiting a star player at my high school that year. He played FB, BB, and baseball. Went to Bama and played BB and baseball.

Beastly, all. Johnny Rodgers was amazing as was Rich Glover.

Sorry but I had to break down and look up the TE. looks like it was Jim Simmons who caught all of 3 passes.
