sure would be nice if other schools (cough cough AU) good players would go pro by their sophomore year instead of it always being us. It just kills any momentum. Of course I'm thrilled for our guys that make it to the pros no matter when they do it

Tip of the hat to the guys for rallying to make the cut and for knocking off LSU. Oh so close to making the finals.

The regional has been in a “wind delay” all day. Just started up a few mins ago for anyone interested in following along

We are in some trouble to try and make it out of this regional. Terrible weather conditions that it doesn’t look like they’ve been able to handle at all.

The No. 16 Alabama men's golf team is in 12th place overall when play was suspended due to darkness Tuesday evening at the 2025 NCAA Men's Golf Reno Regional. The Crimson Tide ended first round in ninth overall with a team score of 304 and finished 13 holes before play was halted.
Weather continues to steal the headline in Reno, with delays in each of the first two days. Monday's opening round was delayed over six hours due to high winds and 50mph wind gusts. Teams then awoke Tuesday morning to snow on the course, forcing a two-hour delay.
The final day of play will tee off at 10:30 a.m. CT/8:30 a.m. PT as teams will finish second round action before beginning the third and final round of play.

Cheers to the guys for a great round today. Moved up to 8th overall, but not enough to overcome the disastrous first round.

The No. 16 Alabama men's golf team rallied in Wednesday's final round of the NCAA Reno Regional, vaulting four spots up the leaderboard with a 5-under par 283, but ultimately came up just short of qualifying for nationals. The Crimson Tide closed the three-day event in eighth place overall with a 19-over par 883 (304-296-283).
The Reno Regional saw weather wreak havoc throughout the week, forcing teams to wait out weather delays on each of the three rounds, including high winds Monday, snow Tuesday and frost Wednesday.
Jonathan Griz led the Crimson Tide with an 11th-place finish at 1-under par 215 and was one of only 14 players to close play under par on the challenging Montreux Golf Club course.

People shite on Murphy nonstop for him losing his fastball so I’m a little surprised Seawell doesn’t get a little hate in these threads. I guess lack of fan interest is the main culprit but this program isn’t close to what it used to be.

Both the Men's and Women's program have fallen off. I'm hoping the new golf facility will help out but I'm not liking the way things are headed right now.

That was an absolutely embarrassing effort.
Bottom line is we don't sign the best players anymore. A lot of it has to do with NIL, but it isn't everything.
National Rankings for In-State Alabama Kids (commit school)
8. Tyler Watts - Huntsville (2026) (Tennessee)
20. Chase Kyes - Birmingham (2025) (Tennessee)
41. Jon Ed Steed - Enterprise (2025) (Vanderbilt)
52. Bailey Sutter - Cullman (2026) (Alabama)
124. Jackson Skinner - Birmingham (2025) (Mississippi St)
Auburn signed 2 of the Top 20 guys in the country, both from Virginia. Tennessee stole 2 Top 20 national guys from in-state over the next 2 years. Vanderbilt signed an entire roster of Top 25 kids.

At one time Kyes was committed to us so not sure how we fumbled that one. Seawell has to change something or my hope would be for Byrne to throw a ton at Limbaugh but there’s probably no reason for him to ever leave Vandy.

I hate NIL. Sounds like our coaches are just coasting off their NC's 10+ years ago. I didn't think we had that hard of a time signing top players, but it's when they get here they seem to go pro at the very first opportunity. I would think other schools would have the same issue with that wouldn't they?
