I think there is something to the idea that at this point other teams are hesitant to schedule us. No real contender wants to do it an start their season with a loss.

I think we're going to have to start doing home-and-home games to get big-time opponents. Even if those teams take an arse-kicking at Bryant Denny they'll have us at their place for a game and a lot of exposure on their campus.

I also don't think 2018 is that bad. Obviously with no Lamar Jackson it's not as intriguing, but Petrino, for all his faults, is a good coach and to me is a threat to put a top 20 team on the field regardless.

2019, however, is pure and utter dog crap.

Louisville and Duke should be forced to play on Coleman for us giving their sorry programs a lift. Arkansas State might be the second best opponent on that entire list.

The reward will be blowing Bobby the frick out of the building. We're going to boat race that team without Lamar. Keep in mind their defensive coordinator was at Miss State when we hung 51 on them.

Two things: 1) we are holding off on the SoCon games before Auburn anticipating either a 9 conference game schedule or a P5 mandate to stop scheduling an annual FCS game. Either or both could be in the works.

2) We can't schedule a better OOC matchup simply because we won't agree to a home and home. Yes, there are some schools that are loathe to schedule us trying to avoid an ugly loss. But there are some we have approached and vice-versa that have basically said they will agree as long as it's a home and home. The neutral site games almost always favor us in terms of benefit more than the opponent, so why take a paycheck to be a sacrificial lamb to the evil god Alabama?

Y'all should know my stance on the neutral site games. They were fun for a while, but I'm tired of 'em. Do one every 3 years and stop this nonsense and get some home and homes. We are at a point we can afford the change.

I've said it for awhile that no one is eager and chomping at the bit to play us , don't wanna risk a week 1 loss off the bat...Which other than the physical toll I really can't understand. We re in a tough spot and I wonder if that's the reason why coach is so adamant about the 9th conference game.
