One of Alabama's top young offensive players is dealing with an injury that will keep him from practicing for the rest of fall camp.
Sophomore running back Najee Harris suffered a foot injury during the Crimson Tide's scrimmage on Saturday and will probably miss the next two weeks of practice, sources told AL.com.
There's a good chance he'll be available for Alabama's season-opening game against Louisville Sept. 1, though, per sources.

You've done smoked yourself retarded. You know receivers have to be running routes and looking for the ball, right... Not blocking for a run play. Not to mention all the lineman that would be downfield

quote:
Alabama will be without running back Najee Harris for likely the next two weeks after the sophomore suffered a foot injury during the Crimson Tide's scrimmage last weekend, according to AL.com's Matt Zenitz.
Following the scrimmage, BamaOnLine's Charlie Potter reported that Harris appeared to suffer a lower leg injury, but that it did not appear to be serious.
According to Zenitz's report, there's "a good chance" Harris will be available for the Louisville game on Sept. 1.
Alabama's depth chart at running back is arguably the strength of this year's team. Head coach Nick Saban was complimentary of Harris, who figures to be a big factor coming out of the backfield, after the start of fall camp.
"I think Najee, obviously at the end of the season, played very well for us and made progress last year, got more confident in what he was supposed to do, how to do it, how to run the plays, how to read the plays, understanding the pass protections better and being a more effective guy in the passing game," Saban said earlier this month. "And I think that progress has continued over the spring. And we've only had one practice so far, but he hasn't done anything to disappoint. I just think that he has more maturity, more confidence and a better understanding. And I think that should help him be more productive."
The highest-rated player in Alabama’s 2017 signing class, Harris entered last season as one of the most-anticipated freshmen on the Crimson Tide’s roster. He saw time in all 14 games, rushing 61 times for 370 yards and finished ninth in the SEC among freshmen for rushing yards despite limited carries. He also added six receptions for 45 yards in the passing game.
But the former 5-star found himself more involved with the first-team offense late in the season and played a key in the national championship game against Georgia. He led all UA rushers with 65 yards on only six carries and recorded a career-long rush of 35 yards.
This spring, with Bo Scarbrough entering the NFL a year early, Harris found himself as the No. 2 running back behind returning starter Damien Harris, and for a second game in a row, the now-sophomore led all backs with 41 rushing yards in the A-Day Game in April.
If there's a silver lining to Harris missing time, it's that junior running back Josh Jacobs appears to be full-go after undergoing ankle surgery in the offseason.
“He’s absolutely 100 percent,” said Saban last week. “He’s had a really good first five days of camp. He’s very explosive, very quick, very fast. Doesn’t seem to have any issue. Been able to take all the reps. Done extremely well.”
The Tide opens the season against Louisville on Sept. 1 from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla.

LINK ]Alabama practice report: 2 injured players back, other notes (al.com)
quote:
Alabama was back under the lights for a comfortable Wednesday evening, as far as the weather is concerned.
Where's what we saw:
-- Safety Daniel Wright had been out for a few practices but was back working with the secondary.
-- Outside linebacker Jamey Mosley was back practicing in a full-contact jersey after missing a few practices.
-- Brian Robinson also looked fine for a second straight day after being limited Monday. Najee Harris remains out and is expected to be back in two weeks, AL.com reported Tuesday.
-- New middle linebacker Ale Kaho was in his final practice before he's allowed to don full pads. He was in helmet and shoulder pads again.
-- Quarterback update: Still TBD.
-- And once again, it looked like Jedrick Wills was working at right tackle with Alex Leatherwood at right guard.
-- The secondary was working in the nickel package with the first and second groups. Xavier McKinney was at safety next to Deionte Thompson with Shyheim Carter at Star and the two corners were Saivion Smith and Trevon Diggs.
-- The second team nickel had Patrick Surtain II and Jared Mayden at cornerback with Wright and Kryriq McDonald at safety. Keaton Anderson and freshman Eddie Smith were shadowing at safety.
-- The Green Bay Packers had a scout on hand.

BOL -- Injured safety Daniel Wright (shoulder) and linebacker Jamey Mosley (shoulder) were back at practice and wearing crimson jerseys. Wright had a brace on his right shoulder, while Mosley had a brace on his left. Neither player appeared limited Wednesday night.

Good.
I thought Wills was the best O-Lineman we had when he got playing time last season.

He prefers and IMO is a better OT than G. I like him out there wherever.
