Alabama Swimming and Diving Has Six Slated for 2021 Olympic Games
Alabama swimming and diving has six men and women who are slated to compete at this summer's Tokyo Olympics. That tally includes three women and three men as well as three who are making a return to the Olympic Games.
Rhyan White earned her spot at the recent United States Olympic Team Trials in Omaha. She is the first Alabama woman to make the U.S. Swimming team and third member of the Crimson Tide women's program to represent Team USA at the Olympic, following Ellen McGrath Owens (diving/1992) and Susan Bartholomew Williams (triathlon/2004). She will be joined by teammates and fellow first-time Olympians Kalia Antoniou and Diana Petkova.
Other members of the Crimson Tide family making the trip to Tokyo including Kristian Gkolomeev and Abbas Qali who both competed at the Rio Olympics in 2016, as well as Anton McKee who will be competing in his third Olympiad in 2021.
Overall, Alabama swimming and diving has been represented at every Olympics since 1972 and has brought home 14 medals, including six gold.
The swimming events are slated to begin on July 25 and will end on August 2 at the Tokyo Games.

Portious Warren has apparently been added to the Trinidad & Tobago Olympic roster. She was on the verge of qualifying in the women’s shot put based on world rankings, and apparently is now in. Would be Alabama Olympian #22 for the Tokyo Olympics.

So proud of Team Canada despite not qualifying for the team finals at #Tokyo2020!
Brooklyn Moors (UCLA) and Ellie Black qualified for the AA final, while Shallon Olsen (Alabama) qualified for the vault final and will be a strong medal contender. Ava Stewart has such a bright future.
