I hope either OJ smith or josh Frazier can play NT as a freshman if we don't get Matt Elam because ivory and lake suck. How would y'all feel about a'shawn moving to NT for this season?
IF A'Shawn moves to Nose, I'd like to see guys like Jon Allen and Da'Shawn Hand starting at End, and would not mind seeing Jarran Reed getting a lot of PT.
Ivory and Lake just didn't get it done this year. Auburn gashed us because Ivory wasn't forcing two blockers to be on him, and he was getting driven out of the play. That isn't acceptable for a NG against any Center for more than a couple of plays.

Ivory is good, but he's too easily matched or exceeded in talent from some Centers.
Reece Dismukes is one of the best Centers in the nation, Ivory struggled to draw even with him.
I don't think loses his job, but he'll probably lose more time to a 2nd guy this season than in 2014.
Lake is still working himself off his floor, being a project is an understatement. Rawer than Steak tartare.

I forgot about reed. Ideal starting 3 for me is Allen Robinson hand

Ivory has been underwhelming since he arrived on campus.

Ivory and Lake were both projects that hardly any school wanted. We thought we could polish them into diamonds, but alas, so far they have remained glassy. Hope we have better luck with OJ Smith and Montel McBride who kinda reside in the same category.

Kirby has made some fricked up moves lately. Not offering D Nkemdiche, initially not going after Heney so he could get Kamara to package with L Carter. Jenkins and Mitchell whiffs. We aren't crushing GA in recruiting as of late
It appears we got the better DL out of the Nkemdiche situation anyway in Robinson. If we got RN, we wouldn't have AR.
We still got Henry. It's not Kirby's fault LC shite the bed this year. He was ranked as the #3 overall player in the country before the season. Hell, I wanted him.
I wouldn't call Jenkins and Mitchell whiffs. Jenkins' mother is a complete moron who believed a rival program's lies. We thought we had Mitchell until the day he announced. He didn't want to leave home, plus he had a teammate going to UGA.
If Kirby goes to Georgia, you can kiss Marlon Humphrey goodbye. His best relationship on our staff is Kirby. You can add Rashaan Evans to that list as well. We wouldn't be getting an OV if it wasn't for him.

I can't believe some people want us to let Kirby walk.

In one day Bo Davis has become this amazing DL coach and recruiter and Kirby Smart has become mediocre and expendable.

Nobody wants Kirby to stay more than me. That being said, In Saban I trust. I fully believe he wanted Bo Davis back for a reason and felt he was the best possible canidiate for the position. I also believe that if Kirby were to leave, he would not hand his most prized position to just anyone. Im more concerned about the current commitments. We need to be sure that these staff changes are not affecting the current players who want to be here. CM and Frazier to name a couple! RTR

I think the vast majority of our commitments are solid, including Frazier. We probably dodged a bullet with Miller when Grantham left. I highly doubt he flips now. UGA will possibly be bringing in an entirely new defensive staff on extremely short notice so he won't be able to build much of a relationship with them.
My concerns with losing Kirby have more to do with future classes, specifically kids from the state of Georgia. While he may not be the lead recruiter on some of these players, he is the coach with the best connections in the state and he can direct our other coaches where to go regarding a recruit.
The state of Georgia is quickly approaching Texas, Florida and California status as one of the premier football recruiting states. If we maintain a strong foothold there then we will remain one of the top programs in the country.
It's not always about grabbing the top guy in that state, but the 10th best player in Georgia is better than the top guy in at least 20 states.

TS, Agreed! Excellent point. by the way, has anyone gotten any new info on Scarbrough. Last post about him that i saw was that the door was opening a little more for OM. Could Kiffin help with this or has any more contact been made to help secure our position?

I think he's solid. We haven't gone after another RB since LF committed to LSU, so I guess we are content with just landing Bo in this class.
He wants to be the only RB we take and rightfully so. He showed his versatility in Orlando and I'm excited to see what he could do in our offense.
He looks to be completely healthy for the first time in a long time and he was abusing DBs at the UA practices. His potential is through the roof.

will he get there academically?

IMG sees a potential future client. I'm sure they will guarantee he makes the grades.

Supposedly Vinnie and DeAndrew are meeting with Saban today to discuss moving on to the NFL.
I hope he can change their minds. White could see huge dividends from the Kiffin hire. He could tandem with Coop to be our version of Marqise Lee and Robert Woods.

Interesting quote from Travis Reier regarding Alabama assistant coaches:
That's a large group of individuals who knowingly choose to work for the biggest dickhead in college football (at least according to our purple and gold friends), after already knowing his work demands.
Who'da thunk that?
quote:
That seems to be something Saban himself understands all too well, as his current coaching/support staff is made up of assistants -- Davis, Kirby Smart, Lance Thompson, Billy Napier, Bobby Williams, Scott Cochran and Kevin Steele -- who are on at least their second stints with Saban. For those guys, there are no surprises when it comes to job requirements.

Yep. I always thought Coop/Lee was a good comparison, I'm really hoping when we finally get a chance to hear from CLK someone brings up that comparison.
I'm still super hyped about this offense, and White should be too. The only thing he needs is a good season production wise and he'll start getting his name thrown around.
