We're not getting Fournette.
We may get two 5-star corners and a 4-star wideout tomorrow afternoon.
I call that a win.
Good luck to LF. He handled his recruitment with a ton of class.

If we get 2/3 of Humphrey, Brown, and Tabor, I will be pumped.

Id take tabor and brown over LF 100 out of a 100 times....we need corners and are stacked at running back

I still think we get Marlon even if we land Tabor and Brown. We play Nickel 80% of the time anyway so they will all see prominent playing time.
The good news is that landing those 3 will cover up our potential shortcoming of Safeties in this class. Getting them will allow Chris Williams to stay at FS.

I don't think williams will be in this class

Brown could also play Safety

We can't turn safeties into corners, but corners can become safeties. Give me 2/3 and we can sort the rest out.

Williams would be crazy to not go to BAMA. Our situation at FS is absolutely ideal for him.

Grades or a flip?

Williams is a huge Bama fan and a damn good player. See his Senior highlights in the OP.
If his grades are in order he will be a part of this class.

They said the geades are close...i think he flips in the end and do not think we will fight it...we need the room.. he isn't our best option left for safety

I agree that he is a good player and would like to have him...i think with some of the guys that will commit (that are better) he will start to listen to the negative recruiting
Posted on 1/1/14 at 8:47 pm to A-TOWNUAFAN
So who are the other options at FS?
Posted on 1/1/14 at 8:50 pm to Gus Fring
After watching Tabor's highlights and camp footage, I think he's too good of a corner to move him to FS.
Posted on 1/1/14 at 8:52 pm to A-TOWNUAFAN
Unless we can flip Hampton, Williams is our best bet at FS.

Williams is set on Bama, it's where he wants to go. Only way he doesn't sign is if he's 100% JuCo, and his grades haven't said that yet. He worked really hard so far, and he did well going into Christmas break.
It could be the same as Parker McLeod, why let anyone move him off his best offer? He had a better season than Bessent, and has more upside.

You guys put to much stock into FS. A SS can play FS. SS is the one that you need to be a little more fearless at. Tabor is an ideal FS to me. Kinda like a HaHa mold. I think hootie comes back also.. the staff is still working on CJH also

In a lot of cases, sure. We've been lucky to have guys who could fit either role the last few years, but unless you have CBs who can play on an island all game long, you need at least one guy who can effectively take a deep half away.
A guy like LC doesn't come around often though. Elite athlete, and boy do I mean elite, strong work ethic, good tackling ability, etc.
But I do like Tabor as a Safety, however I also wouldn't mind him as a Corner. Doesn't really have the long speed you wanna see, but if he can press hard and use technique, he'll rarely need it.
If Marlon was as physical as Tabor and if Tabor had the crazy athletic ability of Marlon, you'd have the perfect CB.

Lester didn't have long speed either
