The loss hurts but other schools need to be prepared because Saban has more time to recruit before the dead period starts.
Saban always complained about extra games getting in the way of recruiting,
I wonder what he'll be able to rustle up

Shannon Terry predicts Bessent to flip to AU.
Interesting to me that we haven't sent any staff to see him yet.

"Finally, as we wrote about in last night's thread, Thigpen visited with Jarran Reed and his family and that visit seems to have gone well. But, the team that a lot of schools are really watching with Reed right now seems to be Alabama as Reed really likes the Crimson Tide and the Tide have turned up their recruiting on the junior college defensive tackle recently."

It seems we may try and get Reed, Pettway , and Elam added to this class.

I love it! On the Rivals $ site this exchange to place in regard to a story entitled: Big Mover in Rivals 250.
Player 1:Bessent almost moved Alabama to 3000 and they're not even done with their class yet. Lmfao. #Dynasty#RMFTR#RoadTo16#NumberOneClassLocked
Player 2:yeah sure. Alabama only has something like 13/14 seniors and they are taking a full 25+ recruiting class. They should have been done at 14/15 max but the snake Saban is will run off and cut people from the program for no reason. Thought the SEC made a rule they couldnt oversign? What about Tenn and their 32 commits so far.
Player 3: Gee Chad, it's not Saban's fault Nebraska sucks and you live in the middle of a frozen corn field. If you really got to know Nick I'm pretty sure you would love him. All of his players do.
Player 4:Chad is a jealous pot Gary. Let him be
That Jealous Pot lives in a frozen Corn Field! Love it!

Based on recent CB picks Bessent is all but gone.

R$ site says: Roll Tide is making a strong push for CB Tony Brown and "there is some talk the Crimson Tide are quietly feeling more confident about their chances". However, Alabama is not the only one feeling better. Texas apparently rising confidence. "Forced to choose right now, LSU is still the pick, but the gap sure seems to be closing". Brown plans to enroll at his school of choice in January so the answer will be known sooner rather than later.

Well without KB we need MH and one other corner. Who will are some names to follow?
Posted on 12/3/13 at 5:30 pm to CrimsonTusk
Well a few posts up mentions we're making a push at Tony Brown. We're still after Tabor and Peppers though both are long shots. Chris Williams could play corner and Johnny Cook red shirted this year. If we get MH I don't really care if we land an additional corner in this class.

The two Georgia teammates must be out...too many prospects that the staff feels good about for two spots. they may feel that Bo may not be a part of this class too

I hope and pray we get MH. We need a good CB in this class.

Peppers has a game this weekend and then his official to Michigan next week. I would bet he doesn't end up taking any other visits, but if he did it would have to be in the couple weeks before signing day.

Deep insights into prayer. Brought to you by the LSUrb
quote:
According to several reports on here, HJ stated he woke up a Tiger commitment, and "prayed over his decision" and changed his mind at the last minute. I'm always disappointed when a top prospect decides to leave the state for any reason, but this allegation of divine intervention really pisses me off... I'm not atheist, I believe in a higher power, and I thank Him often that the Founding Fathers had the sense to legislate separation of church and state, and wish that this separation extended to sports as well. Many supposed insiders in the know defended his character when allegations of trolling or grandstanding were thrown about during his long recruiting process, but I for one find the assumption that The Lord even gives a holy crap one way or another about where this kid plays sports in college to be arrogant, egotistical and presumptuous (couple that with Mom being allegedly miffed that she wasn't fawned over sufficiently and a picture begins to emerge), let alone the implications of claiming that God is whispering "Go to Bama" in the inner ear of athletes choosing a school. I find that to be out-of-line, distasteful, and trolling of the "highest order". Do we really want to believe that God becomes involved in the outcome of sporting events? Every time some kicker crosses himself, or a player makes some religious gesture in the endzone, I cringe. For each post-game interview with the victors that ubiquitously begins with "first of all, I'd like to give all the credit to my Lord and Savior..." I always wish just once the losers would plainly state "well, we tried hard, but the deck was clearly stacked against us, since obviously Jesus wanted them to win". Let's keep God a spectator on the sidelines like the rest of us....

If it was really Jesus whispering in his ear he would have committed to Auburn.
