I agree it sets a bad precedent. However, Saban and staff have more information about that incident than we ever will. I'm not one to blindly follow what they do, but if he is cleared by the University to come back then perhaps Pettway didn't do what we all think he did.

Wasn't one of them more "accessory" than "curbstomper"? I didn't follow the story as closely as y'all, of course, but I do seem to recall that one of them was supposedly more guilty of not doing the right thing than actively doing the wrong thing. Perhaps that was Pettway?

The rumor on BOL (again not confirmed. Posted by someone who claims to know the victim) said that Pettway asked him for something and that distracted the victim while Eddie Williams did the dirty work.

It was my understanding that Pettway waited in the car for Hayes and Williams, but I could be wrong.

Well, he just said Bama had made up a lot of ground. Didn't say he was a "lock". He felt like Hand was more likely coming than not. TIFWW, he's just a friend of mine that will email me every so often about recruiting. He could be getting his info from BOL for all I know.

I was not in favor of Pettway coming back but Saban has more facts than we do on the whole situation so its his call. I'm not one to blindly follow Saban but I think he has earned a few passes from us. Now letting say Eddie back would be wrong (unless of course he is being a kick arse juco safety and no one is stepping up to replace Haha )
