You mean the longstanding Intelligence community (complete with a Senate committee) that is chartered, sworn-in and tasked with keeping Americans safe from foreign danger followed leads on a Presidential candidate's relationship with .... a foreign adversary?
Here... I'll take it to a personal level.
My line of work requires a security clearance. To get that clearance, my entire life had to be investigated before it was granted. My friends from grade school were interviewed, my travel history was searched...it was a dang cavity search.
And my work is no where close to the same level of threat to national security than people getting a Yankee White.
Please get a clue about how the U.S. Government works.

New Zealand and Australia, island nations with geographic containment advantages the US could never replicate (and both hailed as paragons of COVID response) have both completely shut down major metropolitan areas within the past week or two.
But yeah, it'd totally be life as usual here if only someone not named Trump was president.

I didn't say "if only someone not named Trump was president." I said CONSERVATIVE. Trump is not, nor has he ever been or ever will be a conservative. If he were, he would understand the value of having a PRESENCE in the countries of a foreign adversary.
