Because you can't stand to be wrong. Miami has the mandate whether you like it or not. They can try to change it.

You are sad.

Did I say Florida has a mandate?

Did you say you might want to check with Miami Dade?

They have the mandate. I told you to look it up. You couldn't show there wasn't a STATE mandate.

Nothing else matters about whether you are wrong.

Accept it.

Honestly, I'm not even sure what you are telling me I'm wrong about. It's like you can't even break down discussions into the person having them and the subject of them before you get all agitated and just start screaming into the wind.

You said the state had 100% power, to which I responded......

Correct, as they are openly challenging the state's authority

quote:

They have the mandate.

And they clearly don't believe they have to follow it if they don't want to - which they've made very clear. Keep in mind, again, I'M NOT SAYING that they don't have to follow it, THEY ARE SAYING they don't have to follow it.

I was wrong about their date, even though that wasn't the original discussion. Can you admit you were wrong about a complete state mandate right now?

I'm not responding to one person. I'm responding to all of the anti school posts. If you are an educator and fear going back, you are mostly thinking for yourself.

You seem to jump all over of the place. I have yet to see anyone in here that states they are in education afraid to go back.

I said one thing and one thing only: Miami-Dade is arguing that they have the right to shut down schools if they want.

I agree with you that there is a state mandate to open schools.

Do you agree that this is currently the situation?

As an educator , I want schools back to normal also . However , people act like virtual , hybrid , etc are permanent things and they will not be . Little Johnny or Susie is still going to get an education .

Sounds like wanting to be cautious and stay online to me.

We are gong to do e-learning, at least for the first month or so, or unless our district implements some better safeguards.

With all of this school talk, here's an interesting development.
quote:

Schools do not play a major role in spreading the coronavirus, according to the results of a German study released on Monday.

The study, the largest carried out on schoolchildren and teachers in Germany, found traces of the virus in fewer than 1 per cent of teachers and children.

Scientists from Dresden Technical University said they believe children may act as a “brake” on chains of infection.

Prof Reinhard Berner, the head of pediatric medicine at Dresden University Hospital and leader of the study, said the results suggested the virus does not spread easily in schools.

“It is rather the opposite,” Prof Berner told a press conference. “Children act more as a brake on infection. Not every infection that reaches them is passed on.”

The study tested 2,045 children and teachers at 13 schools — including some where there have been cases of the virus. But scientists found antibodies in just 12 of those who took part.

“This means that the degree of immunization in the group of study participants is well below 1 per cent and much lower then we expected,” said Prof Berner. “This suggests schools have not developed into hotspots.”

The findings are likely to be the subject of much public debate in Germany, with full class sizes planned to resume at schools across the country after the summer holidays.

“This means the majority of schoolchildren do not get infected themselves despite an infection in the household,” said Prof Berner.

“We have to take this finding into account when deciding on measures to limit social contact.”

That is interesting . We have had two schools in my country have to quarantine from FB workouts bc of spread among players and staff . I think most of it is not kids but worried about teachers and staff and community
