You obviously don't know Florida. School starts August 10th. Under 4 weeks.

Nice name calling. Thanks.

Thanks for the offer of beach property but I don’t need it. My family has some right here in Alabama. Of course they couldn’t use it for a couple of months because nobody was sick but the Rona was going to sail in with the tide and kill us all.

I stand by my assertion that a lot if not most of the resistance now comes from a backlash to the draconian measures taken back then - you know - when nobody was sick.

Nobody hear said that is what they want to my knowledge . People are just saying what their state/ districts are doing so far

I mean you just keep saying things that are easily proven to be untrue, and saying them as if you are the smart one and the other person is an idiot.

As for the Florida mandate, it's pretty clear for a quick reading of newspaper articles across the state that nobody really knows if it is entirely enforceable and that multiple Superintendents are making it clear they and their boards are going to make their own decisions. So, at that point, it becomes whether the State is going to send in the national guard or withhold state funding.

quote:

Some school districts, including Broward and Palm Beach County Schools, were quick to announce they would be submitting a waiver in lieu of the five-day option. On Monday, Superintendent Diana Greene told the Jacksonville Meninak Club that Duval Schools would be submitting a waiver.

Sorry you couldn't find what you were looking for.

State has mandated back to school. That is a fact.

And not having to go 5 days would only mean home and school days.

Why would they need a waiver? Oh yeah, mandated going back to school.

Glad almighty proved it untrue.

Do Miami-Dade schools still open on August 10th or no?

Nobody ever argued that the State Superintendent passed an executive order because that clearly happened. The point was that certain school systems and making it clear that if they don't feel like they can do it then they will not do it - Miami Dade specifically.

Which opens August 24th, not August 10th. FYI.

You are a really sad little dude. I don't understand having such absolute contempt for everything and everyone that you willingly say things that just matter of factly false (along with insults), then ignore it as if no big deal whatever on to the next thing I'm mad and fighting about.

Fvckin miserable way to go through life.

You are trying hard to not be proven wrong.

Wow, proven wrong and you do it again.

This started about the mandate, not the date. Maybe you should go back and read almighty.

You know, like you tell me to do.

This started about the mandate

Right, the mandate that everyone agrees was made. The next step to having this conversation is to realize what the followup point was: certain counties are challenging that mandate, such as Miami-Dade County. Nobody disagrees that there was a state mandate made via executive order.

So, to sum up

Crimsonians: The Florida Secretary of Education mandated everyone go back to school.

SOG: Right, but Miami-Dade County has made it clear that if they don't want to go back they won't go back. They are currently having their stakeholders vote on various options, one of which is 100% virtual learning.

Crimsonians: No, there's a mandate.

SOG: Yes, we know there is a mandate. We agree there is a mandate. The discussion isn't about a mandate and whether it exists, it's the fact that some counties are openly discussing not obeying it.

Crimsonians: Mandate, go read it.

I guess, but you can't really ignore it's a backlash that's been fueled by certain people and outlets popular in the south. Even before any measures were put in place in Alabama, many businesses in Birmingham ad already started cutting back hours or closing. The Summit shopping center was a ghost town the week around 3/16, well before Ivey had issued any orders. The backlash really started when Karen couldn't get her hair and nails done.

Hahahaha. Wow. So you are going with that was before the mandate?

You did question that. Another almighty try.

I literally have no idea what you are talking about. I feel like I've made it pretty clear at this point.

- State issues mandate
- Local county considering ignoring mandate

Not sure how much more simple it can be broken down.
