I'm not up to date on everything that has surfaced, but you don't see a problem with this?
I mean, weren't we given the green light with Sexton from the NCAA? Am I correct on this? And yes, I'm talking about forfeiting games and any additional punishments. If the staff had absolutely no clue of this, and the NCAA cleared him after an investigation, then how are we held responsible? Don't take away an entire season of success from the players and coaches that worked their asses off because someone else didn't do their job.

We were cleared when it came to Kobie Baker setting up a meeting with Sexton’s dad and an agent. This is a different deal now. I still think it’s stupid tho that we would get penalized for it but oh well

Only regarding the Kobi Baker Chuck Person meeting (more than likely)
In these situations, NCAA decides if some specific incident impacts eligibility, NCAA does not give "100% all clear" greenlights
quote:
NCAA cleared him after an investigation,
For example
NCAA officially "cleared" Cam Newton during the 2010 season over his father talking with MSU boosters
BUT that was not a 100% clearance
If someone could prove to NCAA Cam was paid, he'd still be retroactively ineligible despite being "cleared"

Again, Auburn 2010, USC 2004 both could/did lose championships over one player. It would be deserved too
I am pro playing players, but the rules are made clear to players/coaches.

NCAA takes the "get a better compliance department" stance.
Ignorance is not an excuse. NCAA doesn't have the manpower and relies on schools to self police. If they let compliance failures pass, system breaks down

how are we held responsible?
The schools are responsible for not playing ineligible players.

Did y’all watch the pro day? Kira is FAST. Looks ready to go. I want him starting game 1. Mack is legit and Herbert is better too. Riley on the other hand...................he hasn’t improved AT ALL. Looks identical to every other year he’s been here. Missing wide open 3s and missing layups

Riley is who he is, but I wouldn’t try and extrapolate too much from this.

I know I shouldn’t take too much out of a pro day, i just don’t see any improvement from Riley at all and I see improvement from others.
Avery Jr looked good also

I think our roster is finally deep enough that we don't have to worry about Riley seeing significant PT.

While I want to agree, then why even bring Riley back for a 5th year if he won't have a major role?

We made the tournament when you did it though.
The schedule and router is already in this thread, so it's not like it's much work.

I guess I’ll do it then. Just don’t be mad if I slack a couple days with updating scores and stuff
I’ll probably make it Monday
