Alabama and Stephen F. Austin will start a home-and-home series on December 30th in Nacogdoches, per a source. Return game in Tuscaloosa in 19-20.

Stephen F. Austin is a good program. They played some SEC teams well last season- lost by 5 @State, by 1 @Mizzou, and won @LSU.
Finished around 100 in RPI, so they should be at worst a Q2 game on the road.

Stephen F. Austin returns its top three scorers from a 28-win season and adds several dynamic players to the mix. Also led the nation in turnovers forced, so this won’t be an easy trip for the Tide.

I don't like playing a team like this on the road. They're going to beat us down.

Even if they do, it'll be an okay loss. The new quadrant system makes these types of road games good to have on the schedule. Auburn @ Murray State last year is a perfect example.

It will probably be a Q1 game. So a win is huge and a loss doesnt hurt. We seen from last year # of losses isnt that big of a deal if you play a great schedule. We got in with 15 but they were all quality.

Good point. The RPI boost we should receive beat the optics of potentially losing to a mid major program.
Hopefully we win and my pessimism is a moot point.

Add Avery Johnson to the list of coaches who truly understand scheduling. Alabama was 8-10 in the SEC last year, but wound up as a 9 seed. How? A meticulous non-conference slate.

You will take a Q1 win on the road and you will like it.

I thought that was a joking account. Never took it serious.

It is definitely a parody account. But the guy running it occasionally does have good info.

Anything good in the Lewis article by 247?

Basically said Alabama has a lot of momentum. Schools like LSU, TCU and a couple others are recruiting him hard. He’ll set some visits after the summer and cut his list down after that.

Wouldn't worry too much about lewis.

Yeah it seems we’re in really good shape with him. Now Watford.....definitely worrying about him

Interesting article on AL.com where they talked to the new Hazel Green Coach. He said he hasn't talked to Kira, only to his mom. He didn't want to interrupt his AAU schedule. But it didn't sound like he was expecting Kira to be on the team as things stand now.
