Does he? He's played in four seasons and has always missed wide open shots. I don't see any reason to believe that's going to change.
Riley is a downgrade from Key.

Riley may be a downgrade from Key but Key isn't leaving due to Riley staying so you are looking at it the wrong way imo
Riley is likely better than any great shooter from a Juco/transfer that would show up and do nothing which is what happens more times than not

Maybe. I'm not so sure. Kassius Robertson, James Daniel, and Egor Kolachoev were all grad transfers that played in the SEC last year that I'd take over Riley without a second thought.

Riley is a downgrade from freshman Braxton Key, but an upgrade from sophomore Braxton Key. For some reason, a lot of y'all seemed to have a lot of confidence that Key was gonna regain his freshman form.

fair enough
I don't think Riley will get his feelings hurt with shorter minutes. he'll get more loose balls than most and help us rebound.
He has a ceiling for sure.
Looking forward to next year.

Did I say that he wasn't?

He also set the previous school record for most 3s in 1 game. He shot 38% from three that same year. If he was hitting 3s consistently throughout his career, he wouldn't "potentially" be a very good shooter for us, he would be.

Riley was actually pretty good early on in his career. It's pretty annoying how a good chunk of our players don't improve over their careers. Heck some her worse. The little bit of time he played last year was definitely forgettable

of course it was. He was hurt.

The point is losing Key for Riley is a downgrade whereas losing Key and adding a good GT could've been an improvement. I'd rather have an experienced point guard than Riley or Key.
I guess Riley will play a lot of 4 next year, but I would've rather taken my chances there with Reese, Fleming, and ocassionally Galin/Hall than at point guard with only a lower 3rd/4th tier true freshman Butler, the coaches son, and Ingram as options.

Starting to believe we might not be done with our roster despite what’s being said in the media. Just a hunch. And Giddens is staying.

We're not done with players transfering.....

Who else do you think will transfer?

I saw a 2019 NBA mock draft on ESPN’s site today that had Herb Jones going in the mid first round.
Kind of surprising to me. I do think it’s possible for him to take a big step, and hope he does. He has a nice skill set.

Herb has the perfect body type and defensive intensity to be an NBA player. But right now he is not close to being an NBA player on offense. Now he doesn't have to be a great offensive player. But he doesn't have much of a game at all right now on that side.

I just want to make it clear I don’t think it’s a negative that Riley Norris is coming back. My post earlier sounded a little harsh. I just think he’s probabky reached his ceiling while Key has plenty of room to improve. So I’m disappointed we have Norris instead of Key. But Norris isn’t terrible, so it could be worse I guess

Good, I hope Riley is next. He is overrated by some on this forum.

I doubt Penny will be an elite coach, but I fully expect him to have Memphis winning 25+ per year and making the NCAAT
Feel the same way for the most part. I think the hype around him even if it isn't warranted will have big impact around him in a positive way. He would really have to get in the way of himself to not be at least somewhat successful there.

Why the hell would you think it would be beneficial at all for this team to lose Riley Norris?
Posted on 4/20/18 at 10:29 pm to CrimsonTider98
Key never wanted to be here. Ferguson duped him into coming and then bailed.
