I swear some of y'all depict Grant as Satan himself It's not his fault he couldn't have all three averaging 17+ points at the same time.

Not about statistical averages, it's about recognizing the talented players on your roster and finding roles for them where they can excel. Grant was awful at that. I hope Avery is better.

Grant had Releford/Randolph/Retin one year and went 13-19. Pretty sure most posters on this board could've done better than that.

Yep to go 13-19 with those guys was embarrassing. Changing subjects ...Of course Watford and Lewis are the big fish for 2019 but does anyone have a gauge on our chances with Austin Crowley?

Randolph was a shutdown defender all of his career and a solid offensive option. Releford was a good player from the moment he stepped on campus. Retin had showed flashes of what he was capable of his RS sophomore season and just lacked consistency. All but the latter were stars under Grant. All three thrived with the ball in their hands. You can't have three ball-dominant players you give the ball to in every possession. It's no secret that Grant wasn't a good offensive-minded coach, but you could argue that if he didn't have an offense that revolved around simply giving the ball to the best player and letting them go to work that those players would have never had near as impressive years as they put together.

He had them 3 years. And yes, that one year was horrible, and I remember it well. I wanted Grant fired. But it's not his fault that all three of those players didn't look like stars all at once. The overwhelming vast majority of collegiate teams have at most 1 star in their backcourt. Not 3. It's not to say that they don't have 3 players capable of being a star, but (back to my original point) great ball dominant players tend to hide good/great players because they take away their touches.

He also finished his JR year on a tear relative to the rest of his career. He scored double digits in 11 of Final 12 games

His JR year early issues we're almost directly correlated with lack of minutes. He registered his second 20+ minute game halfway through SEC play
While having 7 games sub 10min during that stretch

I would be ecstatic if we got the three in-state kids that we are after. Would be a great class. I'm really high on Jaykwon Walton.

Yeah I agree. Rongie Gordon who is likely one of the best in state guys for 2020 goes to high school with Walton as well.

I don't think you need to feel threatened by Bowl and co.

Cecil said that most of his teammates were at the press conference. I'd like to know who wasn't.

Key, Giddens, and Davis weren't on stage.

I think this 100% confirms Key is gone. Giddens probably is too.
