Cecil Hurt said something thee other day like Key didn’t have time to “ease back” into playing after his surgery. I’m wondering if that just messed with him and made him have a bad year or something

What is Hall gonna declare for? The G-League? Europe? Surely, there's nobody that actually believes he's ready for the NBA.

He is not ready but he is going into his senior year. It is smart for him to declare and get feedback on what he can improve on going into next year.

Edit: We may have a few test the waters of the draft and come back tho

If Hall does, I'm not so sure you'll see him back. He's an NBA big in my head and he'll test off the charts at the combine. It's crazy to me how overlooked he is.

Hall an NBA big? Have you watched the NBA in the last 15 years? Can you sell me some of what you're smoking?

I'm shocked we got as much out of Hall considering he had surgery on his wrist during the season.

With that being said, his numbers faded in a big way after the game in Lexington.

I'm expecting big things out of him next year. His hand/wrist had to have been an issue for him all year. Rtr

Ah yes. The classic what are you smoking line when someone has a different opinion than yours. Classic Tider. You're so right, what would the NBA want with a long and athletic shot-blocker who had the 2nd highest FG% in the NCAA edging out third place by 3%?

Hall's only 2 weaknesses are his girth (easily fixable in the NBA) and jumpshot. His jumpshot and specifically FTs (which NBA teams typically look at to see if a shot is easily developed) were actually looking pretty good before his hand surgery. Before that, I was getting to the point where I preferred him to be on the line more than just about anyone else on the team.

The NBA game has changed. If you can't shoot at all, you better be dominant down low and Hall isn't. Frankly, there's not much of a market for a guy who can't shoot, is soft around the rim, and consistently gets beat to the rim by smaller guys.

Hall needs to return to school, bulk up, develop some sort of a shot from 7+ feet, and start taking care of business more consistently around the rim. If he wants to start making money over sea's, that's his decision and I wish him the best of luck. However if he wants to ever have a real shot at making it in the NBA, he needs to come back and improve a lot.

Are you serious? He may be skinny, but he was strong as hell around the rim. He had and-1 after and-1 this year. He also developed a very nice and efficient back-to-the-basket game. You don't average double-digit points at 70+% FG (while having an injured shooting hand half the year) at the high-major level (on a very tough SOS) without being great around the basket. That's just silly.

Bird , did you watch the Auburn game in Auburn this year? Auburn started a 6''3'' center, who beat Hall to the boards all night. It wasn't the only time that happened. Look at the end of the Kentucky game. He dissappeared as we were beat to rebound after rebound. If Hall is so great, how come we sucked at rebounding all year?

Changing the subject, but okay.

He had a bad night against Auburn... And he still went 3/4 from the field, had 4 blocks, and on one of his worst rebounding nights still had 5 boards in 23 minutes.

And LOL at using the UK game. He was the reason we were in that game. He had 16 pts on 7/8 shooting and 6 rebounds. It wasn't the center position where we got smoked on the boards. It was at the 4. Hall actually out-rebounded both of the center position players for UK. Giddens and Smith combined for 19 minutes and 1 rebound between the 2.

We were middle of the pack as far as rebounding goes, but regardless as I mentioned above our problems rebounding wasn't because of Hall. It was because of Giddens and Smith being terrible on the boards. Key was our best rebounding 4 and it wasn't close. Team Rebounding is a team stat, not an individual stat.

I think Hall would get drafted. He's uber-athletic and runs to the rim off picks really well.

NBA scout at McDonalds Game just texted me: “Next year’s class is unbelievably weak. Really disappointed. Only one sure thing (Barrett) and 2-3 high upside guys. A guy like Kevin Knox comes back and he could go Top 5 next year.” Interesting

I need to stop seeing tweets like these bc then I start convincing myself Collin is coming back

Could Hall play 4 in the NBA if he developed a jump shot?

Maybe. Jamychal green made the NBA but he is a very low tier player. So that may give you an idea of his hall's chances.

I would put Key leaving at 90%....wouldnt bother me at all.

I know he was hurt the first 25% of the year, but even considering that, he was a massive disappointment who would disappear for entire games late in the season. If he left I 1- wouldn't be surprised and 2- wouldn't be upset

He didn't play much worse than his FR year, he just had less usage.

Key hasn't been a good olayer for Bama since he showed up. He should be a depth wing at best

Would need to be more comfortable handling the ball

Doesn't need to be Chauncey Billups out there, just needs to be competent to take open lanes to the hole from the arc
