I imagine the original BigEast being disbanded hurt them also.

If we lose an assistant, I hope we go after Orlando Antigua.

Georgetown should be playing in a Duke sized 9-10,000 seat on campus arena. They have plenty of students to fill up ~1500 seats and their undergrad ~8-10k + their 10k post grad support the program well.

Georgetown's problem is they are playing in a 19k capacity Wizards arena that is 20minutes from campus and a pain in the arse to go to for students/alumni

The new big east is more than good enough. While it does lose some marquee matchups/rivalries they enjoyed (e.g Syracuse, UConn, Louisville and WVU) the catholic schools are fine building new big matchups between themselves

Justin Coleman is transferring from Samford as a grad transfer. Will be eligible immediately. Let’s give Avery Jr’s scholarship to Justin

Y'all remember that awful game against Georgetown years back when we were ranked near the top 10? Lol

Yeah, they won on the last second. That broke our home-game winning streak too.

I was halfway joking but I wouldn’t mind him coming back. He was a really good ball handler and could hit free throws. He would definitely be able to get our guys good shots and he’s capable of putting up 20+ like he did against Oregon.

I wouldn't mind having him either. It obviously won't happen though.

Arkansas’s Daniel Gafford is seriously considering coming back another year. Most people thought he would go in the draft.

I would love to have him back. We need a true PG and he seemed to have found his stroke at Samford. That bridge has to be burned though.

Speaking of Grad Transfers, here's a short list of guys I'd like to at least see us go go after:

Ryan Luther, Post (Pittsburgh) - 12.7
PPG, 10.1 RPG, 2.8 APG, 1.6 SPG, and 39% from 3 on 3.1 attempts. This guy would help fill so many different holes.

Ryan Taylor, Wing (Evansville) - 21.2 PPG and shot 42% from 3 on 6.4 attempts

Aaron Calixte, PG (Maine) - Averaged 17 PPG and 39% from 3 on 5 attempts per game. Main(e) concern here is he's short and very turnover prone.

Gafford staying isn't the craziest decision. Gafford to me has upper mid lotto upside and even just a solid development year could get him mid lotto (7-10) range

The guaranteed + 4 yr contract differences between being pick 20 and pick 10 is pretty big on top of the investment that goes into a player

For reference here is the 2017 rookie scale difference from the picks

25- 2YR Guarantee: $3.3mil 4YR Total: $8.2mil
20- 2YR Guarantee: $4.0mil 4YR Total: $9.5mil
15- 2YR Guarantee: $5.2mil 4YR Total: $12.1mil
10- 2YR Guarantee: $6.7mil 4YR Total: $14.7mil
5- 2YR Guarantee: $10.1mil 4YR Total: $22.2mil

We already have 13 players under scholarship for next year? I don't see why we'd make room for Coleman. He's a skilled player, but has already proven that he can't play at this level. He'll tear it up in a mid-major conference and hopefully make a living in Europe.

The bigs are weaker next year as well, but Gafford will not have nearly as talented a backcourt playing with him next year.

From a movement up the draft perspective, he just needs to develop a game outside the post. Losing the guards won't really affect that, if anything will give him more opportunities

Coleman shot 25% three in two years after we recruited him to be a shooter. I don't understand the love for him on this board. He had his chance to be successful at this level and wasn't. I'd rather have AJ Jr, for nothing more than his attitude. I don't love his game, but I think he can be a leader on next year's team.
