Some troll posted something on twitter saying "Collin Sexton" under the Pat Forde article and Jordan Sexton responded with "Nope"

Smart move by Byrne. Get out ahead of the investigation. If the NCAA comes, no one can accuse us of lacking control.

This is what worries me. What did Baker do if there were no rule violations? If it were something minor they would have reported it. Seems suspicious.

It is worrisome as frick, but right now every compliance department in the nation is giving all their bball employees a full body cavity search. It could be completely unrelated to the fed thing or it could be simply that he was close to some of the people involved. If it touches players, we will know soon enough when Bama self reports or declares people ineligible.

Hisformer job before Bama was director of enforcement and certified amateur status for the NCAA

I don't think it's ironic at all. I think it might be why he resigned.

Only concern re: statement would be that Byrne mentioned no other "coach or staff member" involved, but didn't include "student-athlete(s)".

I'm not worried, but it would be the most Alabama basketball have a great season derailed by sanctions. Or if we get caught for paying a player that didn't even work out like Armond or someone.

Shut down the entire basketball program for all I care, as long as none of this affects the football program.

Get fricked. Why the hell would this affect the football program? If you don't like basketball don't post in this thread. Simple as that.

Let's just say it will not be good for the football program if the NCAA or FBI starts poking around. Might start in basketball and go elsewhere.

Let's just say I like basketball as much as football so I would never sacrifice one for the other

There's really no reason to think the NCAA or FBI will investigate here because we told a guy in an administrative role to resign. Even if they do, I highly doubt our football program is sloppy enough that they would allow investigators to stumble upon violations while looking into the basketball program. I can't think of any example where an investigation into a hoops program led to sanctions for a football program.
