guess that's why we chose Canada. I've got AU making the tournament, but Stella must be high school level.

AU ended up winning 87-29, walkons (maybe transfer RS'ing? if allowed) came in at 76-15

We have been rotating players frequently from what is being reported. Our starting lineup has roughly similar minutes to our bench players. Bruce seems to be trying out different lineups

Starters

PG- Jared Harper
SG- Mustapha Heron
SF- Malik Dunbar
PF- Desean Murray
C- Anfernee McLemore

Notes

-Austin Wiley is out injured w/ stress fracture from Team USA. Expected healthy for game 1 but that's scary for a big

-Auburn held Stella scoreless in 2QTR

Kansas only beat them 90-56. They still gave up around ~30pts by halftime when their starters were still in. Auburn was winning 47-8 at halftime so

I was at the game and not prone to hyperbole, but Giddens looked great the whole time he played. Very menacing look, with elite athletic ability. Played hard, physical, and fast. He will be a starter at some point, very impressive, based off of one game. Have to say though, McGill was a lot shorter, their heights compared to the roster were a joke.

Gene also posted on their board Giddens was soft and not very good on their board awhile back saying we would greatly miss Jimmy Taylor, from what I saw, he is a huge upgrade.

... Except that this is just not true. My only post on AU board re Giddens can be found here LINK. I have no problem defending the comment that the play inside the paint for Bama won't be as good w/ smaller wing heavy lineup. That's basic basketball and nothing to do with Giddens

Things I've actuallys said about Giddens

-Giddens is an improvement but worry about his fouling rate

-Giddens foul trouble can lead to relying on a FR big

-Giddens will improve the offense

saying we would greatly miss Jimmy Taylor

I said that Jimmy Taylor/Bola's contributions were criminally underrated LINK. While I think/have said Giddens is an improvement, his foul trouble + Donta's foul history could put Bama in a pinch

That must be the fast press lineup because it's awfully small. I'd be surprised if that starting groups plays a lot together this year. How'd Chuma do?

Only 34 points

Regardless of what Kansas did, any team that doesn't hit double digits in a half is overmatched.

The results aren't what matter though. The experimenting with lineups I think will be great for Bruce because after Heron and Wiley, AU has a lot of even, solid players competing for minutes.

Just searched Giddens then added my username by author. I remembered what I had written so I knew what I was looking for

That is not expected to be the starting lineup really at all. Below is my breakdown of playing time, most AU bball fans probably would agree

Expected Starting Lineup then primary backups w/ playing time %

PG - Jared Harper 50% / Davion Mitchell ~40% / Bryce Brown 10%
SG - Mustapha Heron 75% / Bryce Brown 25%
SF - Danjel Purifoy 70% / Malik Dunbar 30%
PF - Chuma Okeke 40% / D Murray 40% / Spencer 20%
C - Wiley 50% / McLemore 30% / Spencer 20%

We didn't get a live stream nor much word yet on performances. By the twitter stats, he seemed to be doing alright but not a top performer

I definitely agree, not trying to say AU > Kansas but just that this team scored 30pts in the 1H on Kansas' starters. It isn't like we are playing the Beauregard Women's HS Basketball team

I honestly don't care how we fare in these exhibitions. As long as we get better from it. Considering the new and/or young faces ew expect a lot of minutes from, it is important to use this time effectively
