We have an excellent coach, who took a bunch of guys who are good ball players, but who aren't elite, and won a whole lot of games with them. Davis, Gary and Primo may be difference makers along side of Quinnerly, who clearly can make plays when you need them. Let's see what happens.

Oh, and we need a good big man.

Chance to be a really, really good team next year. Hopefully the roster gels and we come out of the gates swinging.

Already looking forward to it.

Juwan Gary looks pretty damn good to me. Pair him with Bediako and we will be solid there.

A lot to ask for. But a tall athletic big man would be perfect for us. Like a very off brand anthony davis

Imagine that 11-12 team in the current system. Green, Lacey, Releford, Mitchell, Randolph, Cooper, Obasohan, Steele in a wide open rim-or-three offense.

It sucks to have to say it now, but we would have all been ecstatic with a conference title sweep and S16 game preseason or even in December. Obviously as we won games and played better, expectations changed, and when we got what I thought was a good draw in UCLA, I expected to win the game.

But... we got beat tonight. It wasn’t a coach, a player, a ref, or any single play that cost us. We had a number of chances to win the game and didn’t do it. Too many opportunities to name. Even after all that and a miracle to get to OT, we didn’t do enough to win.

I’m not going to ball up and say UCLA was the better team, but they did play better tonight. We missed a lot of FT’s and open looks from 3 and they played very well for long stretches without their best player. We had our chance to take it and left it out there to be had. It is what it is, but it sucks. And it’s going to be a long six months to get back to basketball coming off of that game.

We have a talented group again next year and expectations will be high for them, which is what this season was supposed to be about anyway. We exceeded expectations and ran into a letdown. I’ll enjoy the success we had this season and look forward to the next. The program has a bright future.

ETA: that got pretty long, but the second half did a number on my liquor cabinet. Ramble on.

I think Next years team will be Final 4 good. Probably won’t be as successful in the regular season because fans will be back and it’s insanely tough to win the SEC B2B years but we should be really good

This team will be remembered with fondness. They started what I think is about to be a 10 year run of great basketball in Tuscaloosa.

Not saying we are about to go on a 6 out of 12 NC's run.. but this years team may be similar to our 2008 football team. the group that turned it around

This right here. I also hate to see them lose a game they frankly should have won. Teams have to make free throws in this tournament to advance. Going 11/25 is really, really disappointing.

What's next year's roster looking like? Let's hope JD grows two inches. Not that being 6'3" is bad, but being 6'5" would be awesome

Agree - sucks because we were so close to getting to a place we've only been 1 time, but it's March and it happens.

It's much easier to accept when you look at the roster for next year and the culture and system that has been created. I'm ecstatic to see a roster of Davison, JQ, Primo, Ellis, Gary, Frenchie, KAH, etc next season. Really, really excited.

Where were the kick out for threes? Why did we try to win it under the basket? Why was Petty trying to dribble drive? It seems like Oats went away from his pre-tournament talk of ‘not changing much, just do what got you here.’ It’s like he outcoached himself.

Deep, talented, multifunctional. Probably the best overall roster we've had in 20 years if not since 1991.

And that's not hyperbole. Those guys will have to put it all together, but the roster is loaded and experienced enough.

Gary is good but he’s like 6’6”. He’s kind of a discount Yves Pons more than a traditional big.

Getting beat by a better team is a tough pill to swallow but it happens. Getting beat by a fluky shots is a tough pill to swallow but it happens. Losing by shooting yourselves in the foot all night is maddening. Herb picking up two fouls in the opening minute. Shack continuously giving the ball away. All the missed free throws. UCLA made ridiculous shots and some that were just flat out lucky and we still had a chance to take the lead with 6 seconds left despite our poor shooting all night. Our senior leader missed two free throws. It was always going to rear it’s ugly head at some point in the tournament, but it really sucks losing to an inferior basketball team that basically played milk the clock for 40 minutes and then hit contested tough shots at the buzzer. We beat that team 8/10 times
