Exactly. The great ones spend lots of extra time in the gym shooting FTs. It's boring, but you have to do it if you want to excel at the highest level.

Just like Minkah used to spend hours watching tape, much more than anyone else.

Herb is going to think about those FT’s for the rest of his life. As you said, it begins and ends with FTs. We make half of the ones we missed and it’s a different game.

After the WKU loss, I wouldn’t have imagined being right on the cusp of a Elite 8. Great year, tough loss, but the future is bright.

ESPN Stats & Info
@ESPNStatsInfo
Alabama was 11-25 FT.

That's the worst FT performance by a team to attempt at least 25 free throws in the NCAA Tournament since Kansas was 12-30 in the 2003 National Championship game against Syracuse.

Apparently we were the worst shooting ft team in the tournament with 25 attempts since 2003. Misery

FTs and those two back-to-back calls going to UCLA at the end of regulation did us in. We could have over come one of those hurdles but not both.

This plus some of the shite shots they threw up that happened to go in. They had to have 5-8 points that had no business being makes.

We always lose these TYPE of games with FTs and critical ref calls going against us and that is no sour grape story.
We lost to Indianas greatest BB team because we missed FTs and dont even talk about ref calls with blue blood privilege.

We looked a little wide eyed across the board - players and coach.

Hopefully we take this experience and learn from it moving forward. We will have the roster to do it.

They dictated the game.

We just kind of obliged.

Yep. They didn’t leave their man to help out on the drive so there was no kick out, and their big man played eraser in the paint.

He had to have a complete brain fart. You ALWAYS want the ball in the hands of the player who has been the best thing all game AND the best Ft shooter. Not someone who has 2 points and played lost on offense all night.

He’s put the ball in Herb’s hands in those situations all season, so it shouldn’t have been surprising. Her got the foul call, and just missed his free throws. It happens to lots of good players .

The refs were dogshit but it was pretty mutual. Mutual enough that it didn't really change the outcome all that much.

The changing of possession when Petty had the ball was huge.

It did, and I don't understand how they can look it that and say it touched him beyond a reasonable doubt. But still, we had plenty of opportunities to take this game over and we just couldn't.

Bama has been good at free throws this season. I think it was nerves and not knowing how to close the game.

We were better FT shooting team than them; not by much but better. Many times its who is going to the line that matters the most not the percentage.
