Hopefully the ligament/tendon/muscle damage was minimal and surgery isn't required. Could be out less than 2 weeks could be out more than 3 months

I've heard that the surgery has happened or is scheduled to happen. Something to do with the labrum.

Do you know when it happened?

Not good.
Recovery time if labrum is torn is at least 3 months and up to 6 months in most cases.

@BAMAMIXTAPE: Alabama inquired about our 2014 #4 Abdoulaye Gueye 6'9 F | Central Park (AL)

Probably just Grant trying to pressure Lee into deciding earlier.

247Sports new 2015 rankings:
Instate:
Danjel Purifoy (#22)
Lamonte Turner (#48)
Brandon Austin (#106)
Dylan Smith (#122)
Others:
Willie Jackson (#28)
Haanif Cheatham (#29)
Noah Dickerson (#34)
KJ Lawson (#46)
Meyer has UK listed as "Favorite" in Purifoy's recruitment. That's pretty rare to see that. Must have heard something.
Who is this Dylan Smith kid? In the composite rankings he is the highest ranked player in Alabama at #82.
Just FYI this only lists the top 137 players which is why Burton and Stair aren't listed. The only big surprise snub is that Will Jackson didn't make the list.
EDIT: Just found out Willie Jackson is actually listed as 247's #28.

Goodman posted some post Euro trip report for Bama on insider today if any of y'all want to bring it over here.
Posted on 8/29/13 at 4:29 pm to Bryant91092
Nothing, but stating what we already know from Goodman, but here is some of the Q&A with Grant:
Based off this and seeing his stats in the euro-trip and seeing him some in the highlights, I'm starting to think Jimmie might actually be a pretty big contributor this season.
quote:
What Grant learned: “Our three new guys got to play on the trip. To see them in game situations was the best part. You get a chance to see their learning curve and how they react in games. Sometimes it’s hard to evaluate in practice.”
Who stood out: "Releford was our best player, but I thought Jimmie Taylor did a good job rebounding the ball. [Carl] Engstrom looked good, like he was ready to go, and Nick [Jacobs] did a nice job with his body, physically changing his body. He was more active and did a better job on the glass.”
What is your biggest concern: "Staying healthy. I like my nucleus, but we have nine scholarship guys and we need to stay healthy.”

I wonder if UAB passed on him like us and Auburn did.

@BAMAMIXTAPE: Georgia and Alabama will be at Bibb County High School next week to watch our #1 for 2015 Danjel Purifoy 6'6 Point Forward workout.

Man we need to lock down our state again next year. Purifoy would be huge.

This was posted on Bamamag, but I figured I'd post it here as well. He'll probably be a 5-star in the 2016 class. UK just invited him on campus, so hopefully we will remain his favorite. He's liked us a lot for a while now so I like our chances with him. If we could get this kid and lock-down Langford (no small task) that'd be 2 5-star quality prospects in one class.

Don't want to dump on Grant but don't you think we get both those players from Alabama if the HC was Wimp,Newton,Gottfried or even Hobbs?
Posted on 9/5/13 at 7:52 am to My2Bits
Kobi Simmons is a Georgia prospect so absolutely not. None of those guys recruited that well out-of-state. Gottfried actually struck out on some of the state's top talent, especially in the 2009 class. Can't tell you much about the others recruiting other than the fact that their players were almost strictly from Alabama. After the Gottfried era the state's talent crop has gone to shite. Grant has gotten every in-state recruit he's wanted. The state's talent is just not close to what it use to be so he's had to recruit out-of-state which he has done better than any other Alabama coach I can think of.
