Amazing that our guys make shots when they aren't shackled by the slow pace offense.

So, do we remain in the "first four out" category?

Levi is worthless. Been saying it for a while. He was good last year. I don't know what happened. Lacey got better. Randolph didn't get the memo.

It's the mentality in my opinion. They know it's OK to take the three, and it translates to a more confident, worry-free shot without hesitation.

Lacey got a little better but he still tends to overdribble and he disappears for large portions of games. Really wish he'd develop a mid range game.

I was just going to say, it's amazing that our guys prove that they're the shooters we thought they were when we're just out there playing ball and not standing around thinking about it

If you think about shooting you've already missed.

Anyone watch Lunardi post game? If so, bubble?

We have a team built to run Jerry Tarkanian's offense and Grant wants to channel his inner Bo Ryan. This team isn't built to play a slow, halfcourt game. They are built to create turnovers and misses, sprint down the court, and find someone open on the wing for a 3 or find a trailer for an easy dunk or layup. There isn't a single big on this roster who is good enough to allow us to run successful half court sets. If we still had Green, we'd be alright, but we don't have anyone close to that good in the frontcourt.

Guess when you consider the three teams behind us lost to Marshall, Texas, and USC in their last games it makes sense. We have a zero percent chance of an at large bid though

Thats what I was saying. Grant wont let them play. He wants to slow the game down too much.

I'm feeling good about the SEC tournament. If Bama is in opposite bracket as UF, I like the chances of getting to title game. I think on neutral floor, Bama will beat OM,UT, etc...

One can only hope. God this team is wearing me out. Can't wait till football season when we're actually important.

Missouri and Florida will probably beat us badly, and I like our chances of choking the game away against the other teams. I have no faith we even make it to the semi finals after tonight.

I'm not confident about us beating any of the top 5 teams. Hell, I'm not even confident about us beating UGA in Ttown this Saturday.

Guess it will be easier to forecast when the SEC brackets are settled. I'm not sure why I'm feeling confident, just think they are going to suck less than the other teams.
Also think Bama gets in NCAA if they beat UGA and win two in SECT.

If I'm Grant I bench Lacey for at least a good portion of the 1st half against UGA. The kid is way too lackadaisical with the ball and is completely inconsistent with his effort. Besides sending a message, I think Obasohan deserves his minutes. The kid is an absolute warrior, and is being way more active on both ends of the floor. Other than Lacey, I wasn't terribly upset with the way we played the game. A couple of open jump-shots aside, we weren't that bad defensively, but Ole Miss was hitting some absolute shite shots. My roommates, who often pick on me for being an Alabama basketball fan and try their best to piss me off, were even blown back with the shots they were making. They both also asked me if the officiating was always this bad in the SEC (ACC Fans). A lot of Henderson's openish pops off of screens were illegally screened, but you won't get called for that playing at home. Jacobs played very well offensively and not as terrible as normal defensively, but he literally threw away 5 rebounds today (roommates also made fun of him). He looks like a cat trying to catch the laser pointer.
We have to win the SECT in my mind to get a bid, I don't really care where Lunardi has us. I just don't see us getting in with our current resume. The only other way is if we get a 4 seed and beat UF in the semis which isn't much easier than winning the whole thing as a 2 or 3 seed. Having said that, I think there as at least a shot for it to happen. If we can avoid playing Mizzou and UF until the championship game, it'll definitely help our chances.

I dont get why people are soo angry at Lacey. He played the exact same way in High School. Jack Doss plays press defense and he(Lacey) would barely run. He just spot up for his shot and shot over the smaller guys. Ive been saying the whole time that Retin should be playing if we want to play that press defense. Also we all knew the kid could play. You dont play on a national team without being somewhat decent. Honestly I wouldnt mind seeing Retin as our primary ball handler. He is the only guy on our team who can take someone off the dribble other than rele.
