No doubt. He has a ton of talent this year held over from the previous staff though, which is why they were the preseason favorite in the league. I don't know how he's been recruiting, really haven't kept up because i know the end result will always end up between a 10-seed and the NIT.

That is a very strange way of setting up the brackets. Best way to advance the top 4 to the quarters I guess.

I'd rather just give the top two teams a bye, also sending them to the quarters without the funky double bye. If 3/4 can't beat 13/14 in the first round, they don't deserve a double bye.

At least with this format, the 3/4 is spared from an RPI damaging game?

That's about what I though the result would be, I'm surprised to see the line that high though

I hope we play them closer than that but I'm not expecting much.

You know I've been saying for weeks that we'll get destroyed, but I'm sure by the time I turn the TV on tomorrow I will have convinced myself that we have a real shot to win

I'd have some hope if it was in Coleman. Florida struggled mightily on the road in February. Chances are Gueye will pick up 2 fouls in the first 4 minutes, have to sit for a long time, pick up 2 more quick fouls when he goes back in, and the end result is Patric Young having a 30/20 night because Nick Jacobs is a waste of space on defense.

Sometimes I think we'd be better off playing defense with four guys rather than have Jacobs out there getting in the way and screwing everything up.

Pros: Fewer stupid fouls and lazy rotations.

Cons: Sometimes he forces the opposing post player to take a shot instead of getting an easy dunk or layup.

We would have won that game if it were in Coleman or on a neutral floor IMHO. At the very least it would have gone down to the last couple of possessions.

We really need someone who can create his own shot and another strong post defender/shot blocker.

I agree. I still think we'd find a way to lose no matter where we played them, but it'd be a highly contested game if we get them in the tournament.

Jacobs blocking two or three shots today was crazy, maybe he's coming into his own defensively..

I agree about that game if it was played elsewhere. Guys played well today. One thing that has sucked about our league schedule is not getting a shot at Mizzou, Fla, or even Ole Miss at home.

Yeah...the mouth breathing LSU fans (shocking, I know) have been giving us grief about our basketball schedule but it's really a fricking awful schedule. All but a couple of our opportunities at quality wins in conference play have come on the road. We got UK and Tenner at home. Otherwise, a bunch of garbage teams with no shot of making the tournament.

I try to keep my emotions under control when watching games in public, but I went ape shite when Cooper got called for that charge. Something needs to change with SEC Bball Officiating. The calls will always be slanted towards the home team, but it's only this bad in the SEC.

That stupid jump ball rule when the ball gets stuck needs to change nation-wide and today is a perfect example of how ridiculous it is. We play great defense and force a shot from another area code late in the shot clock and UF gets the ball and a full 35 seconds? It was a long shot for us to win that game at that point anyways, but it sunk any shot we had.
