Walk loads the bases. 26 pitches for Guilbeau this inning. I can't fathom how he's still out there.

If the guy handles the bunt he would have got out of the inning without giving up a run, you have to take free outs.

Monster strikeout ends it. He's absolutely done. 67 pitches and 4 innings from a guy who's thrown 15.2 on the year. He should exit with at least a two-run lead. All we could've asked for and more. If we send him back out it's just totally unfair to him.

Of course, but the bottom line is Guilbeau today has thrown more than 20% of the innings he's thrown all year. The last inning showed he's worn out and there's no way we could've asked him for anything else. He did a phenomenal job though.

Hawley should come out for the next inning. We're going to need to use our bullpen and score some runs to win this game.

I feel like we just stole those 4 innings.

I might let him go until someone gets on.

Then yank him.

We absolutely did. Never would've thought we'd be up 2 after an effort like that from Guilbeau. Frankly I thought he was out there to try to steal a couple of scoreless innings at the start, at the very best.

Guilbeau's coming back...

Cohen of Miss St put in their closer in the 5th inning yesterday in a big spot to shut down a rally. Kid ended up pitching 4 more innings, but the point was he shut down the biggest rally and they won 3-1. I don't expect Gaspard to evolve into something that radical overnight, but it sure would be nice if we took the preemptive measure of pulling an obviously worn down pitcher to protect a small lead in a must win game.

As long as he yanks him at the first walk or hit I am ok with it.

Two-out walk and nothing else. I'll gladly keep bitching so long as they continue to prove me wrong But geez it's scary, pull him now!

2-out single by Overstreet is all in the 6th. Guilbeau back for more, greeted with a leadoff single.

5-4 putout for the first out and then a phantom interference call on the slide gives us a DP. Again, we'll take it
