1-2 pitch lined into CF for a two-run single Eicholtz was one pitch away from finishing 4 great innings of relief. 5-3 USC.

Yea that extra walk was unnecessary, needed to pull him after the hit. Shaw enters the game with two out and two on.

I'm not convinced Gaspard can take this team to Omaha. He still hasn't proven anything in his time here. It's sad. We need a proven coach with the new stadium coming together.

6-3 Cocks. We're about to wrap up a 1-3 week.

I don't think that's accurate at all, but that's just my opinion.

Another 1-2 pitch lined into center, another weak throw home from Salem, and it's 6-3.

Inning ends on a groundout, going to the 7th trailing by 3.

You can't blame it on the facilities. We have the talent, but it's hard to get excited about just making it to a regional. As a kid, we were always making it to Omaha. I'm sorry, but a super regional loss isn't proof of quality or success.

I disagree. There is a lot Gaspard can improve on as an in game coach, but he has done a good job here, overall.

In the 90s we were one of the few schools in the country, and especially in the SEC, with a commitment to baseball. It wasn't nearly as competitive and we led the way (well, right behind LSU) in putting forward a commitment to the sport. Since then, everybody else has caught up and passed us ten-fold. We're still using the same facilities and the same commitment we were 15-20 years ago, until this new stadium was funded. The game has changed since the Jim Wells hayday, and we're finally catching up to it. It's ignorant to just point to the 90s and say that's what we should be doing now. Things are different.

The fact that we have the talent with some of the worst facilities in the league is a testament to Gaspard's recruiting abilities. You can look at Carolina's starting pitcher today as a guy we lost because of our facilities. Just imagine what this staff will be able to do with a new stadium.

We're in first place in the SECW and in line to host a regional this year and you're calling for a new coach.

Difference in the game is our line drive with 2 outs last inning was right at the fielder.

We will still be. 1/2 game up with 6 of 9 games at home, that is of course if we lose today and if LSU wins today.

Was always going to be hard today with our starter suspended.

Wass will have another chance here after lining out with the bases loaded to end the 5th. Two on with two outs in the 7th, Carolina bringing in their closer.

Yep. That's why yesterday's win was crucial, we're kind of playing with house money today. Would be fantastic to steal the series, but you couldn't expect it. Still have a shot though.

Damn, Wass laced one into right center field but their CF made a nice running grab to end the inning and save two runs.

Tough break for Shaw as USC hit and runs with one out and get a blooper to fall in left field. 1st and 2nd, one out.

Yup, those 2 line drives didn't find a hole, good positioning by the USCe coaches and good plays also.

Watching Hitchcock's 39 steps.

Keep me updated.

Now a bunt single loads the bases. I said earlier they're the best bunting team ever, they're all perfect Gotta hold them here somehow to have a chance, 2-0 count...

Single makes it 7-3, still bases loaded with one out. Big strikeout for Shaw for out #2. Flyout ends the inning. Nice job of limiting damage. 7-3 after 6.

One out hit by Smith is all we get in the 8th.

USC is scoring more runs I'm off to the pool. Not a bad weekend, we got a win and fought hard today. Just not enough quality pitching for nine innings today without Keller. That suspension was huge, would've like our chances today with the way the offense battled after the first few innings. Oh well, just need to beat Florida in Tuscaloosa next week.

ETA: Hopefully Kentucky and UT beat Ole Miss and LSU respectively today. They're both tied late.

We're 14-8 against the top 50 of the RPI now. Florida, LSU, and MSU are all top 50 (UF and LSU are top 20) so if we can finish 5-4 or better, that's 19-12 against the top 50 and 18-12 in the SEC. That'll very likely get us a regional.
