Starters aren’t the problem, champ.

Riley Quick = 4.3 innings per start
Zane Adams = 4.66 innings per start
Tyler Fay = a lot less than both

Frick outa here dude.

Adams gives up his 3rd HR in 3 innings.

If the bullpen did this you guys would be losing your minds.

Are you under the impression that college pitchers in the SEC regularly go 6.0 innings?

Liam Doyle, possibly the best pitcher in the conference outside his performance this weekend (highest K/9, one of the lowest ERAs) is averaging just over 5 innings per start. ~5.25 - 5.5 depending on how you adjust for the AU weather situation.

We’d love to have a better 3rd starter, but Adams and Quick have been serviceable to good most of the year. Hitting has clearly had its struggles.

He’s averaging 5.7 innings per conference start and that’s not even accounting for the Auburn rainout.

Remove that game and he’s at 6.3 innings per game in conference.

In case you’re unsure what that means, it says he usually pitches into the 7th inning, about two more innings than our guys.

Try to keep up.

Guess the hitting strategy is watch the guy pound the zone for two strikes then you can swing every time I switch over it’s a 0-2 count and they don’t swing at the first two

Should be just hit in on the ground to their infield.

They suck.

I agree don’t know why they would take so many pitches

Bro, he’s the best pitcher in the conference, and I quoted his full season stats since you seemed to be quoting Quick’s and Adam’s full season. It’s not very common to have pitchers average 6 innings a start in college baseball. That’s a challenge even for professionals over the whole season.

Our guys might be a quarter or a half inning shorter than we’d want, but you acted like that was taxing the heck out of our bullpen and the reason they’ve struggled all year…lol.

Well we’re gonna lose this one

What are our odds of hosting? 50/50 and if so we’ll be a 15/16 seed?

You’re the dumb frick that tried to use him as a comparison.

I was just correcting you, like you often tend to need.

I would imagine their conference stats are about the same or worse than their non conference, which would be skewed due to pitch count limits to start the year.

Name a year over the last 20 years that our bullpen has been noticeably better. You can’t.

I don’t understand why we are the only team in the SEC that can’t develop pitching. Our bullpen is atrocious. We have one legit SEC starting pitcher.

I just don’t understand

Yet half of these Joe Blows will defend Jason Jackson while screaming that our bullpen sucks.

Well I think it’s clear Jackson must go. I greatly appreciate what he did two years ago in an impossible situation but it’s time to move on.

Agreed. Only people who want him at this point are those that romanticize what he did for the team in 2022. It was superb truly. But if product continues to suffer like it has due to coaching and poor decision making, you’ve got to go.

Alabama baseball fans are loyal to coaches to a fault.
