Our turnover margin against Auburn was -1. We basically gave them 2 TDs and then they gave us 1 on the Whitlow fumble. I'm not sure how you can excuse the other numbers, in which Auburn performed better than they had against anyone remotely good all season, based on that. Again - it was Week 12, and we let Auburn perform better against us offensively than anybody else they played other than Kent St, Arkansas, Mississippi St and Samford. If you find that alright and don't have any issues with it, then good for you. I find that troubling.
I see you went back and added more.
Is the Auburn offense allowed to get better or no? And how many times did Auburn's offense give Alabama points?
Was it the defenses fault they got the FG at the half? No, but we are sure as hell going to ding them for it right?
I'm not even sure why you would think "-1" in the turnover thing isn't a big deal, it wasn't just "-1", it was "-14".
Of course, it was Auburn that just gave that fumble away, it wasn't the defense that caused it.

He's not on my team. Didn't realize being called stupid would hurt so many snowflakes.

Nah, I just generally choose not to associate with people who enjoy talking like that all the time.
I'm sure you'll find some who enjoy it though.

I think Jan.1 will be Golding's last game as Bama's DC/ILB coach.

Yeah, but you have to take into account the injures and lack of experience.
They still missed assignments and tackles. And some of that was also by our veteran starters. They didn’t play a perfect game.
You want the offense to get ALL the blame while ignoring Tua’s injury for the LSU and AU losses. He had surgery and had barely practiced at all 2-3 weeks. Could explain him being rusty in the first half of the LSU game. Certainly the injury limited his mobility. Even LSU needed Burrow to make plays with his legs in that game. We were missing that component completely with Tua.
In addition because of that injury Mac Jones had to step in. You want to excuse the inexperience of our backups on defense while not giving any pass whatsoever (again that’s my issue here) to our backup QB on the road in an hostile environment. Ignoring that our offense put up more yards and points on that AU D then any offense, including LSU, did all season long? Again with our backup QB.
You can’t have both ways. I’m just trying to say the defense deserved at least some blame.

And what if it doesn't happen? Because all indications seem to be that Saban doesn't see things the same way as the fanbase.

How does his injuries cause him to throw the ball and make terrible decisions?
Not sure where I ever said the offense is to blame. I said I come here every day and all I ever see people do is blame the defense, over and over.
And yet when I look at the actual games, I see an offense that:
Didn't score at all in the 2nd half vs Clemson and had multiple turnovers, one of them a pick 6.
Gave up a pick 6 and a fumble near our own redzone vs LSU resulting in 14 points.
Gave up 14 points to Auburn.
Our offense was our own worse enemy. They were said to need to win the games this year, but instead they did the opposite.
And yes, our defense made mistakes, they do every single year and have since I've been watching football.

Actually I do excuse Mac Jones a good bit. I think he's extremely under-rated by our fanbase and while you could see the inconsistencies due his lack of experience, you could also see that he made a lot of good plays as well. One of those pick sixes was pretty damn fluky, but instead of 7 points for us, it ends up being 99 yard return and 7 for them.
Which btw is exactly what I saw with our defense. The ability to make a lot of great plays, and they did. But they lacked the consistency needed to get off the field at times. I still saw a lot of talent, a lot of good plays and as this thread suggests in the OP - the future looks pretty damn good.

You missed the part about him having surgery and barely practicing at all for close to 3 weeks? You really don’t think that had any impact whatsoever? If you really think that so I’m guessing you must think players shouldn’t really have to practice at all. Because apparently practice isn’t important.
quote:
Not sure where I ever said the offense is to blame.
Really because you said this:
quote:
We lost our last 3 games because of the offense, not the defense. PERIOD.
This implies the defense had no blame whatsoever. And then I quoted that exact sentence and PERIOD, but you didn’t correct me originally. Now you’re trying to back track.
Regarding that Clemson game, Clemson put up almost 500 yards, avg 7.65 (which was above their seasonal average) despite Clemson intentionally cooling it off in the 4th quarter. That’s an example of a game in which BOTH O and D were shite.
quote:
And yes, our defense made mistakes, they do every single year and have since I've been watching football.
And so has our offense. Yet the defense gets all the passes. You see this thread was about the defense. Yet you come here bitching about the offense vs defense blames. You want to start a thread about that, go start one.
Eta: Now you make a post about Mac which seems to go against what you originally said. Which is that the offense deserved blame for that loss and not at all the defense because they have the injury and inexperience excuse.

OSU has a good looking defense but when I look at their defense, the growing pains they endured last season and our current defense I feel very good about our defense.
Also, I noticed that even though we've had better secondaries our secondary this season is pretty good. Did you see Oklahoma's secondary?! Most of those guys were small and couldn't get an upper tier SEC offer.
I really don't give a shite how OSU and OU's defenses played.
The fact that they sucked doesn't make me feel better about our suckage against LSU and Auburn.
Other teams' suckage is not the standard that is played to at the University of Alabama.
Your whole post is a loser's mentality.

You sound emotional and like someone who doesn't understand sports. Success in sports requires maturation. We don't have that maturation yet.

No, you've been pretty much an idiot throughout this thread.
You reacted pretty much how lost idiots do when slapped in the face with facts...deflect and try to save face. You're not good at either.

I can give you a long list of things I had a problem with. Not setting the edge most of the time chief among them. Big play after big play given up because of guys not setting the edge.
However, it did, contrary to people who want to site bullshite stats, get better as the year went on.
The funny thing about this entire thing is last year when it was said that Golding was the DC for the Clemson game, and I was the only person who had a problem with him being DC this year.
This year, I look at everything that's gone on and it's the exact opposite.

Hey, frickwad, you're the one who said I "didn't understand sports". Someone with at least a couple of brain cells to rub together would see the 10-1 downvotes and understand that the OP was garbage.
I have no use for twentysomething year old doofuses who barely have hair on their balls. You're embarrassing yourself by continuing to defend your stupid post.
