I don't downplay that at all. It was a huge problem.

It also didn't improve at all throughout the season. THAT is a coaching problem.

I don't care what he says about it, it should have improved. And it didn't. At all.

And Tua throws another pick 6, but don't worry folks, it's not the problem, the defense is. And being a top10 defense isn't enough anymore, even with probably the worse string of injuries in recent memory.

Yeah, you're fricking stupid.

Bingo...it is amazing how great some of our players become without being great players on the field. Sounds like a auburn site or UGA.

34 points, 354 yards, 5.45 YPP vs Auburn

Auburn's results
Oregon : 27 pts, 5.11 YPP
Tulane : 24 pts, 4.62 YPP
Texas A&M : 28 pts, 4.75 YPP
Florida : 13 pts, 4.41 YPP
LSU : 20 pts, 4.16 YPP
Ole Miss : 20 pts, 5.63 YPP
Georgia : 14 pts, 3.83 YPP

The only games Auburn had better offensive numbers in were Kent St, Mississippi St, Arkansas and Samford. Yea, what an insane expectation to want our defense to be better by Game 12 than that.

My bad - frickin stupid amirite!

Offense in Alabama's last 3 losses:

Clemson last year: 7pts, plus another turnover that was returned for 46 yards. 3 more turnover on downs in the 2nd half setting up Clemson with good field position constantly. Only managed 16 pts, but the defense gets blamed for giving up 37 pts, nothing really said about the offense.

LSU this year: 7pts in a pick six. A fumble inside the redzone by Tua to start the game, another fumble by the punter. But that's not all folks, Tua then has another interception near our own redzone, setting up LSU with a 1 play TD, AFTER Dickerson has a personal foul that sets them up on our 13. Despite the offense basically handing them 14 pts, the defense is once again blamed because they gave up 32 to on of the best offenses this year. Our own offense gets yet another free pass on a shitty performance.

Auburn this year: Mac Jones gives up 14 pts on pick sixes, and we miss a FG for the tie at the end of the game. Defense gives up 34 pts to Auburn, lots of which was a ton of luck, mixed in with a little bullshite, but once again the defense gets blamed.

In those 3 losses there was 28 pts given to the other team by our offense directly in the form of pick sixes. You can really go ahead and add another 14 pts to that because the offense turned it over giving the other teams offense extremely good field position. So in truth, 42 pts the offense gave to the other team in our last 3 losses.

But our defense, who has suffered a string of terrible losses causing the most freshman to start in all of college football is to blame?

Because you're fricking stupid. Go ahead and show me the teams that have offenses doing this kind of shite while having any success. I'll wait, because they don't exist.

See, you are so hell bent on being red assed mad that you have somehow turned this into an Offense vs Defense thing. The offense is certainly also to blame for the Auburn game. This thread isn't about the offense (we can talk about them too if you want). This thread is about the defense. We can discuss the turnover issues in big games on offense too - they are a massive problem lately.

The defense had 5-6 drives against LSU and Auburn in which they needed 1 stop to either win the game or get the ball back with a chance to tie the game. They got 0 stops on those drives. Zero.

They looked just as lost against Auburn in November as they did against South Carolina in September. If you think that's fine, alright. I was dissapointed with it, and I think it is something that the staff is probably dissapointed with. And pretty clearly Golding thought that they didn't handle it as well as they could have re: how they called things and the level of difficulty they installed. He literally said that yesterday.

Our turnover margin against Auburn was -1. We basically gave them 2 TDs and then they gave us 1 on the Whitlow fumble. I'm not sure how you can excuse the other numbers, in which Auburn performed better than they had against anyone remotely good all season, based on that. Again - it was Week 12, and we let Auburn perform better against us offensively than anybody else they played other than Kent St, Arkansas, Mississippi St and Samford. If you find that alright and don't have any issues with it, then good for you. I find that troubling.

Luck and bullshite, alright. Well, again, you can go that route, and I'll go the route of they doubled their SEC PPG average the previous 2 months and averaged more YPP than anyone except bottom feeders.

I just don't understand how someone can be so pissed off at a discussion about whether a unit on a college football team was good or not. It just fvckin sucks to even interact with you. I don't understand why you enjoy being like this.

Can we not disagree with another man without attacking them like this? We are all on the same team here guys. We have to do better than this.

We lost our last 3 games because of the offense, not the defense. PERIOD.

You would be right if the defense played as well as they could but they didn’t. I’m sure Golding and the players would’ve said that themselves after the game. They shared at least some of the blame.

Yeah, but you have to take into account the injures and lack of experience.

If we were out there with the 2011 defense laying these eggs, totally different.

Hell, for the bowl game we have coming up vs Michigan, we are going to have to break in 2 more new starters for that game on top of everything else.

And still we managed the #6 defense for the year. Pretty damn amazing really.
