He had time - many of his sacks were from not stepping up, but stepping IN to where the pressure was. Kinda crazy tbh. With his athleticism, I was dumbfounded how poorly his reactions to the rush was.

And Texas didn’t do anything insane on D: Play the run, spy the QB, disguise man/zone a lot (which Milroe is just AWFUL at reading - with HORRIBLE picks even after making them tip coverage with the RB in motion).

Bama’s skill guys on the outside were waaaay more talented that Texas’s DBs. With a semi-capabale QB, Bama would have scored another 21 points. Easily.

BTW - I didn’t know that before the game, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky picked Alabama to lose due to Milroe. Pretty much saying that Milroe is not a dual-threat because he isn’t a capable enough thrower. Ouch.

Saban has a history of not playing a better player because they "haven't won the team yet" at QB.

Hurts vs Tua was the most obvious, but there have been others at other positions as well.

Now he has us behind the 8-ball in the second week of the season because he just had to play Milroe.

Dan spoke straight up FACTS!

Milroe is not near Hurts level as a passer. He's a long the lines of Malik Hornsby.

Again I see about 3 more losses with him as our Quarterback!

After the glimpses we had last season its not too surprising how bad Milroe is at throwing and decision making. What was surprising is as fast as he is, he's not a intuitive runner at all. His decision when to run, the angle, and ability to spring from the pocket is one of the poorest I've ever seen from a DT Qb with his speed. It's really perplexing.

I had no doubt we were going to lose because of Milroe.

I mean I don’t think the staff planned on losing tonight, so I would imagine he was the best option unless of course the conspiracies are true and all of sports is fantasy land where narratives are literally created by the coaches and they intentionally lose just to make a Cinderella story hero out of backup player.

Inane take and cringe attempt to be funny. It's common for coaches to start the wrong guy. Saban did it in 2015, starting Cooper Bateman over Coker and costing Bama its one loss. He then did it again for the duration of 2017, again costing Bama a loss and nearly the national championship. Lesser coaches start the worse quarterback even more frequently. Drew Bledsoe had to get injured for Tom Brady to ever see the field.

he still wants to go to his 1st read and when it's not there he takes off and runs? If you don't think D1 coordinators are gonna be prepared for that then I don't know what to tell you guys. He 100% is gonna have to show the ability to process coverages and distribute the ball with accuracy. Otherwise, this offense will not be successful.

I said this on Aug 27th. The Milroe "experiment" should be over, its time for Buchner to play.
