Where does the front 7 rank all time? Definitely the best in recent memory.

Defense also leads the nation in most 3 and outs, so they don't play as many snaps as some of the other defenses. That makes it all the more impressive.

tGOAT. Hilarious, everyone expected Williams to show out on the edge vs Michigan State, and to an extent, he did, but Ryan Anderson IMO was balling out. ThE depth on this team is insane.

Seems we give up big plays when we blitz too. I would love to see the number of big pass plays we give up when blitzing.

It looks like an NFL line. Complete with quality reserves, specialists, and great coaching. The 2011 front 7 had a slightly better LB core. But this DL is better.

CJ Mosley
Dont'a Hightower
Courtney Upshaw
Nico Johnson
Jerrell Harris

vs

Reggie Ragland
Reuben Foster
Tim Williams
Ryan Anderson
Denzel Devall
Shaun Dion Hamilton

Yeah, 2011 was probably a little bit better. Though 2015 is the better pass rushing/defending group IMO.

Its hard to say which front 7 is better. I tend to think 2015 is more impressive, because i can see 2015 team still dominating back in 2011. Due to the nature of the game now, i think 2011 would fare much worse against the offenses we face now.i think 2011 only faced 1 top 50 offense, and only saw the run pass option very rarely. 2015 has played lots of top offenses and sees mobile option spread stuff all the time

2011 was also great because the safeties and corners with Kirkpatrick, Barron, Menzie, Milliner and Lester were just out of this world.

I think Fitzpatrick/Humphrey/Jackson/Jones are great but Kirkpatrick, Milliner and Barron were all first round choices and playing in their upperclassmen years. Menzie and Lester were also drafted.

Just a ridiculous defense from top to bottom.

Dline: 2015 by a HUGE margin
Linebackers: 2011 but not by much
Secondary: 2011 by a moderate margin

Watched the replay and the comment was made that Bama blitzes 17% of the time.

Assuming they win the National Championship, it'll go down as the greatest of all time.

If not, then it'll just be another class that could have been the greatest.

One thing the 2015 team definitely has over the 2011 team......

'92 had 50 sacks, also, I believe. I wonder what % were on blitzes for the Curry/Copeland gang? (o way to find out now, probably)
