I was curious to know what the record for 50+ point games is in a season so I went back 30 years and here's what I found:
- Since 1988 Alabama has score 50 or more points 25 times.*
- 17 of the 25 have come since 2007.*
- The most consecutive 50+ point games is two, in 2017 and in 1991.*
- Alabama had a dry spell of 50+ point games from 1994-2000.
- Alabama only had three 50+ point games in the Dubose/Franchione/Price/Shula/Kines years(1997-2006).
- Alabama has three 50+ point games in each of the last two seasons.
- The most 50+ point games in a season is three. (2014, 2016, 2017)
- 2008 is the only season under Nick Saban without a 50+ point game.
- In 2012 and 2013, Alabama defeated Arkansas 52-0, their only 50+ point game in each season.
- Alabama has scored 50+ points the most times against Ole Miss. (3)
*Not including 2018

Light hijack...
Looked it up, last time Bama scored 50+ points in three consecutive games was 1945. They actually did it four straight games against UK 60-19, Vandy 71-0, Pensacola NAS 55-6, and Miss St 55-13.
Not 100% certain, but I think this is also the only time Bama has accomplished this.

For every game we scored 50 there is probably another game we easily could have scored 50 but didn't because we let our foot off the gas.
Saban could have put up 4-6 50 point games a year most years.

Ah, you left out the first golden age of Alabama football, the 1970's. Coach Bryant scored 50 or more at least once every year in the 70's except 1971 when the Tide managed 40+ points 4 times but failed to crack 50 that year. He broke 50 twice in the years 72, 73, and 75.
The high point would have to have been 1973 when Bama scored 66 to open the year against Cal and 77 against a hapless Va Tech team. They were held below 30 only 4 times with the low being 21 against LSU in Baton Rouge.
And this was in an era before offensive inflation and spread offenses extending games. 77 points in 1973 probably translates into the 90's or triple digits in todays football game as Coach Bryant was running the wishbone, chewing clock and substituting liberally. He never tried to run up the score and saw it as low class if you did.
Those mid 70's teams were the offensive juggernauts of their day, just in a different style where they would grind you into a pulp by the 4th quarter and still only run probably 70 plays at the most. It was a sight to see and I'm thankful and fortunate to have seen two of the greatest eras of Alabama football in my lifetime.
I still remember listening to John Forney call that 73 against Virginia Tech, known then as VPI or VA Polytechnic Institute. Coach Bryant had everybody but the water boy in by the middle of the 3rd quarter and could have taken volunteers from the stands to finish the game. VPI couldn't stop Bama's wishbone machine and many offensive school and SEC records were set that night, some of which still stand. They include 833 yards of total offense, 743 yards rushing, and 11.9 yards per carry. Bama never punted and only attempted 7 passes. The starters played 12 minutes of the game before Bama started substituting heavily. The Tide had 4 backs eclipse 100 yards. It was a complete dismembering,

When I posted this, I didn't realize that it would break not only an Alabama record, but an SEC record...
This season is starting off right!
