Barmore was our last dominant DL

If Overton comes back for another year, I could see him developing into that next dominant player. He seemed like he was one step away from wrecking shite a lot of the time.

Coach had to start relationships with the high school coaches, it doesn’t happen with one class. Be thankful the in state talent is not as good as past years.

I’m not “complaining” about Alabama’s recruiting. I’m pointing out reasons that it’s falling off and is not likely to improve. Alabama the state is relatively small, and Alabama the university has no billionaire boosters. These collectives aren’t going to close the gap between an Alabama and the select few at the top of the food chain.

And as you should have gathered by now, I am not of a mind to participate in this ego-driven arms race. At some point, most will realize that I was ahead of the curve in that regard. I will repeat what I have already said. This is no longer college football as we once knew it. It’s professional football players wearing your favorite uniforms, without a salary cap or binding contracts beyond one season. Totally unenjoyable IMO.

If we have a top ten class nationally every year we will be ok.

Alabama has done that since 2008 and still went 9-3 this year and missed the playoffs.

Alabama wasn't out talented this year, they were out coached.

If a school signs the #10 ranked class every year, its fans need to hope for both elite level coaching and great injury luck. That is assuming by “OK” you mean competing for national championships.

Good thing we're signing a top 5 type class...

We really don’t need to re-litigate the lack of elite DLs, right? All you neeed to do is highlight that one position in each signing class to determine a team’s championship aspirations.

Shaft, is that you?

Four+ needlessly long, skippable paragraphs per post about how Alabama football is doomed for one reason or another is kind of a giveaway.

These guys are so consumed with Alabama they have to find a way to communicate their anti-sentiments

I’m going to give every one of you a hard, cold, truth. We are not signing the #1 class and winning the national championship every year. Sorry to disappoint you.

Panthers4Life is now the second coming of TidalSurge

Panthers, I suggest not starting megathreads in the future if you're going to get bent out of shape when things inevitably swerve off-topic

The real question is, will either of those things EVER happen again?

So that begs a follow-up question. If not, will you consider all the $$ and time spent on Alabama football a waste?

What happened to

quote:

Alabama’s lack of in-state and regional recruiting success, or lack of DL recruiting success is sustainable on a national championship level, more power to ya. Not gonna “”argue” with you about it. But I have expressed my opinion on the topic. Done with that too.
