Yes and Holden too. They are very good. Bells speed is a question mark. Holden is not a "can't miss" prospect. But I am hoping Metchie,Bell,Holden,Baker will turn out elite or at least a couple of them. Williams has great potential too.

Also: Kayshon Boutte WR LSU commit is highly interested in us and The Tigahs think he is the real deal.

247 Evaluation

Has a stocky, thicker frame for the position. Build somewhat resembles that of a running back. Owns well-above-average long speed. Highly productive pass catcher who put forth a breakout junior season, scoring 17 touchdowns on just 38 catches. Shows the ability to create splash plays at all levels. Easily creates separation off the line of scrimmage and is a downfield threat with high level change of direction and pace within his routes. Tracks the ball well downfield. Also presents a threat out of the slot and in the quick game with the ability to maximize yardage after the catch. Faces top competition and Power 5 caliber cornerbacks on a near weekly basis. Production and skills outpace his sheer physical ability. Projects as a multi-year starter at the Power 5 level with the ability to play in the slot and outside. Has the upside to develop into an early round NFL draft pick.

You must have typed the wrong guy. Who were you referring to? Jones-Bell has great speed.

Three-Point Stance: Big commits, Bru McCoy, 2020 must-gets

quote:

Rivals.com National Recruiting Director Mike Farrell’s three point stance is here with thoughts on some recent huge commitments, his thoughts on Bru McCoy’s situation and some 2020 must gets.

He doesn't list anyone as a must get for Alabama, but we are after a few of the guys he mentioned.

3. Five must-gets among the uncommitted 2020 crop

Last week I named a few 2021 prospects that were must gets for certain programs. Even with so many commitments already in the 2020 class, there are still must-gets as well that will play out over the next many months. Here are five that stand out to me.

Justin Flowe and USC – USC needs to keep some big name kids home and Flowe is one of the best linebackers you’ll ever see out of high school. They can’t continue to let kids this talented leave the state.

Jordan Burch and South Carolina – Clemson is recruiting pretty well don’t you think? South Carolina needs a win here especially after having the early lead for Xavier Thomas and losing out to the Tigers in the end.

Kelee Ringo and Texas – The Longhorns want to continue to recruit the west coast and, like every Big 12 team, need defensive help. Texas considers itself DBU and a commitment from Ringo would help.

Sav’ell Smalls and Oregon – He’s not staying home at Washington it appears, so Oregon is the best shot to keep him in the Pacific Northwest. The Ducks would love to pair him with Kayvon Thiboudeaux.

Zachary Evans and Texas – I know Texas was “eliminated” when Evans came out with his top five, but I still don’t think it is out of this. It needs to keep a talent like this in state.

Rivals Rankings Week: Who should be the No. 1 tight end?

quote:

With it being rankings week for the 2020 class, there were numerous discussions and debates on where players should be ranked this cycle. One of the biggest debates was about the No. 1 tight end. Darnell Washington was the top tight end heading into the week, but five-star Arik Gilbert made the move from athlete to tight end, so he makes a strong case for that top spot as well.

CHAD SIMMONS: Arik Gilbert

Gilbert is a freak athlete that was scoring touchdowns and sacking the quarterback the last couple of seasons, but as a senior, he is going to focus more on offense at tight end. That is the position he is expected to play on the next level, so we have moved him over from 'athlete' and he deserves to be No. 1.

There just aren’t jumbo-athletes like Gilbert. He is 6-feet, 5-inches tall, he is around 260 pounds and he can run, catch, block, create mismatches and get down the field vertically. Gilbert is a true top 10 talent in just about any cycle. The tight end position does not hold as much value as other positions when it comes to the NFL Draft, but Gilbert is different and it is not hard to look ahead and see him in three or four years being a first-round pick at this position. He checks about every box there is to check for elite tight ends.

ADAM GORNEY: Darnell Washington

I want to go on record saying I think Gilbert is a phenomenal talent and he’s a special player who absolutely deserves to be a five-star in this recruiting class. He’s huge, he has great playmaking ability and he’s going to be special wherever he ends up, probably at Georgia.

I just think Washington is almost a once-in-a-lifetime kind of player who at 6-foot-7 and 260 pounds is so big and so athletic and so physical that it’s almost impossible for linebackers or defensive backs to have any chance defending him. Washington can stretch the field, he has awesome hands, he can win with athleticism or pure size and I’ve never seen a situation where he didn’t dominate when the ball was thrown his way.

A big portion of this job has to do with projection and if Washington ends up in the right hands where he can be developed, there is no one in this class or any class I can remember with the physical tools he brings to the football field.

Rivals100 Released: New five-stars for 2020 class

quote:

The latest version of the 2020 Rivals recruiting rankings have been released and with it, as always, many changes.

The top 10 was revealed on Monday, with quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei, a Clemson commitment from California, remaining at No. 1. The talented signal-caller has it all – size, pocket presence, downfield vision, arm strength and accuracy – to remain No. 1 but there are rare prospects closing in. California linebacker Justin Flowe moved up one spot to No. 2 and is as aggressive a linebacker as I’ve seen on the field while South Carolina defensive end Jordan Burch moved up 10 spots to No. 3.

Three players became five-stars while four others lost their fifth star. Here's a closer explanation for those moves as the full Rivals100 has been released, with the Rivals250 release coming up on Wednesday.

LOST FIFTH STAR

quote:

Reggie Grimes

“We still really like Grimes as a prospect but he’s still in a situation where his ranking is more about his physical upside than his past production. It’s always hard to weigh those two against one another but if he has a strong summer and more importantly a dominant senior season, he will be right back in the five-star discussion. Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina and others are in the mix.” – Woody Wommack, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst

McKinnley Jackson

“Jackson is a player that hit the scene very early in his career, so the spotlight has been on him for some time. The defensive tackle entered high school with a big body, strength and quickness for his age and he flashed early. His game has not grown as much as we'd like for it to over the last year or so. He needs to be more consistent.

"Jackson is still one of the best interior defensive linemen in the 2020 class, but he has not played up to the level expected. He will be at the Rival100 Five-Star Challenge presented by adidas later this month in Atlanta, and we will continue to evaluate him. Jackson is not committed but Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, Alabama and others are very involved.” – Chad Simmons, Rivals.com Southeast Recruiting Analyst

George Pickens qualified at Georgia, wish Bama would have pushed harder for him. He is going to give Bama trouble this year and next year.

I wouldn't read too much into it. The guy who put it in is an Ohio State writer. He didn't make it VIP either so he's just guessing.
