How is that a shame? The NFL doesn't want these kids because they aren't ready. Period. They would get killed in the league. If there were any market other than college affiliation where kids could play, the NFL would already be in it. There isn't, and they aren't.

The NFL is about making money. It has nothing to do with a market.
They get free player development and they don't want or care to make a minor league system because most owners only csre about the bottom line.
