Coach visited JJ today.. we are in the drivers seat with him now. ;) Not sure if he is a take right now or not. I guess it will come down to who we feel good with.. Washington, JJ, or Brandon Frazier. I also wonder if we will take two with Caden Clark’s situation

"Per his coach, 'everyone' from Alabama (Banks, Sark, Saban) is expected in to visit with five-star athlete Darnell Washington on Tuesday. The top tight end target is expected to make a decision at the UA All-America game next month, but has also mentioned Dec. 12, his mom's birthday, as a possible decision date." -- HS

If anyone on BOL knows what's going to happen with Caden Clark's recruitment and enrollment with his injury situation, they're not spilling it. He might not be able to practice or play in 2020. If so, I suppose he might be grayshirted and enroll in Jan 2021. That could open the door to taking two other 2020-class TEs.

LINK ]New TE prospect on the radar for Alabama?
(BamaOnLine | segments)
quote:

Alabama is intent on adding a second TE to its 2020 class with JJ Pegues and Darnell Washington being the targets of note. Theres a new name Crimson Tide fans should be aware of as the calendar turns to December — LINK ]Brandon Frazier.

The three-star prospect from McKinney (Texas) McKinney North is expecting a visit from UA this week. “Bama’s coming for an in-home visit this Wednesday,” Frazier told BamaOnLine. “It’s Coach (Jeff) Banks. We’ve been texting and calling every few days.

A recent de-commit from Arkansas, Frazier says he still has interest in the Razorbacks depending on what happens with their next hire. He’s also interested in of course Alabama, as well as Auburn, Iowa State, and Texas Tech.

I only have one official set for right now and that’s to Texas Tech this weekend. I’m sure we’ll talk visit dates when Coach Banks comes down Wednesday. “I’m definitely interested taking a visit to Alabama. I have four officials left. I already took one to Arkansas.”

“Knowing that they’ll win,” he said of his interest in the Tide. “Also just seeing potential player I could become within Bama. They put some tight ends in the league. They use the tight end pretty often. It’s cool envisioning myself playing there, especially for a big-time program like that.”

3-star TE Brandon Frazier 6-7/247 TX hudl

Note: Gabe Brooks (247-midsouth) said, "He plays at a big school in DFW against legit competition. Film looks good. Also a good basketball player. Nice looking tight end." Bama offerred last spring before he committed to Arkansas. Irv Smith was ranked #683. Bama recruiting Frazier isn't an indicator that the staff doesn't feel good about it's chances with other TE targets. Saban is keen on backup options.

The only bright side to not playing this up coming weekend is Saban on the trail while the rest of the top programs are game prepping

If recruits are swayed..i expect the NCAA to be under pressure to declare championship week a dead period. Cant have Saban /Alabama return to life again after so many have declared both dead

How good do you think he is? Seems like a great prospect? What do you think of him?

He is a very good athlete.. if I had to give a comparison I would say he could be a lot like Jermey Sprinkle if he reaches his potential. He has the size to block and the athletic ability to route run and be a threat. With any highschool kid it will come down to his work ethic.. but I really feel he would be a great get for us. The only knock I have is his height.. He is 6’2 any site that sat 6’3 is stretching it.. but he has a good frame.

I hope not, but I don't put much stock into a juniors "commitment"

Hell, Gus could get canned next year

Demouy Kennedy is now a 5-star on Rivals.

Rivals Rankings Week: Updated Rivals100 sees 8 new 5-stars

quote:

“Kennedy shows up in games and on film immediately. If he isn't making the big stop against the run, then he is pressuring the quarterback or delivering a big hit on special teams. The Alabama commit rarely left the field, and he was constantly making plays. He plays with a high motor, he plays fast and he plays aggressive. You put those traits with his size and instincts, and you have a true five-star linebacker. With his size, speed and strength, he could project inside or outside in Tuscaloosa.” – Simmons
