Don't be surprised if we sign Jeremiah Pegues

FWIW, I asked BamaBo about him about a month ago, he is a HS coach in that area, and he said he expected him to stay home at Ole Miss.

This was the talk from all around him back in August. Ole Miss bound but taking visits and enjoying the attention. I will check up on this again and see how much has changed. Might be Friday night when I find out more ;)

Per Olé Miss 247 mod Yancy Porter, Pegues plans to visit for Bama's game vs Tennessee. I think he's still most likely to choose OM or AU. His 247 profile says he's 6-3/260, but it also says he measured 6-2/280 at The Opening regional in May. Assuming we get Gilbert, I just don't see a need to take 2 additional TEs. Maybe Bama will keep Clark and also take Grimes (6-4/240) as a project at TE or DE. We'll see.

I don't think the staff expects Clark to be part of this class.

You could be right about Clark not staying in the class. I haven't seen much said about him since his OV in June. The 5.0 40 time on his 247 profile page is pretty slow for a TE.

Alabama tight end commit Caden Clark game action and evaluation

Clark will be in this class if I have to drive him from Ohio myself . I want anyone on Bama who dislikes Urban Meyer as much as this kid and his family does.

Good find. Maybe Caden Clark is a much better prospect than his current rankings reflect.

Disclaimer- haven't followed recruiting as closely this year and last as past years so I could be off on this.

Dline recruiting - we really need to sign more studs on the dline this year than what I see projected. I know some of the LBs will be on the edge. Still that's an area of huge concern. Seems like Dline has been off (attrition and injury bug) the past 2 years.

A lot of talk of the DT out of McEachern HS in GA, Jamil Burroughs on the verge of committing to BAMA. 6'2" 330 4*

That would help..

LOL someone downvoted my post..raise your hand and tell me why? Am I off base on what I posted and asked?

Does Dline not concern you? Wheres the quality depth going forward? Injuries have really hurt us this year and part of the problem is lack of depth or am I wrong?

Alot of people crapping on this guy. They can’t evaluate better than the coaches I’m sure of that.

Maybe your post got downvoted by someone who's not thrilled about Burroughs or because Bama actually does have good DL depth now, though some is from the great DL class we just signed. To get up to speed quickly, click on the Depth Distribution chart link in this thread's first post and then look at the 2nd post to see our 2020 DL top targets. From the 2019 DL class, Dale is already starting at NT, and Eboigbe and Young have both started some at DE due to Ray's injury. Bama isn't expected to lose any current DL players except Davis and Musika, but there is some possibility Alfano may transfer out. Bama really doesn't need to take more than 3 DLs in this cycle. There are higher priority needs at other positions.

Burroughs reminds me of a Stephon Wynn,Johnny Dwight,OJ Smith type of recruitment.
May turn out or just be a utility player over four years. That's why most people don't seem to excited about him. Coaches know better.

From what I've seen on BOL about Burroughs, he's pretty quick and strong but needs S&C to lose bad weight he's gained in the last year or so. It appears Bama wants to take a NT and prefers Jackson and Guillory. But Guillory appears likely to sign with LSU in December and Jackson plans to take four more OVs and sign in February.

ETA: Per Hank (BOL) Burroughs has academic work to do and recently said he was going to wait until January to commit. Maybe Bama has decided to go ahead take his commitment now, but with signing contingencies such as grades, weight loss, and available room for him. Iow, maybe he can commit with the understanding that he needs to have a backup plan.

People have mostly complained about him being slow and lacking explosion. Not qualified to judge.

The bad weight he gained is probably affecting his explosiveness, speed, agility, stamina, etc.

Surge

Thank you for your post. That really helps me be able to find the info on Dline roster, recruits and etc. Or how to find the info for them team and other positions. Depth distribution chart is great ..

We're really young on Dline and don't have experienced depth due to injuries (I mentioned this in my initial post) ..so maybe it seems worse off than it really is..

Who do you think, currently on roster, is a future 1st rounder on dline?

Again thanks!

Looking at the depth distribution chart..

Tackle only has 1 upper class man Musika? and 1 sophomore Mathis the rest are freshman

End has 2 upper class man Davis and Ray (both are injured) rest are freshman.

While we do have a lot of good young players we still need to load up IMO the next 2 classes.

Again, I had no idea of the depth distribution chart.. thanks for that!

Not Surge but my two bits: Raekwon,Dale,Barmore,Egboike,Young all have a chance. Have the talent need to develop. Raekwon hasn't as much but his measureables will still get him RD 1,I think.
Jennings may get there too. He is playing very well.
