I know. But tbh, I don't really get what point you were trying to make in your response to my post. I have observed that posters sometimes ask questions that they can quickly and easily get answers to from the posts and links on this threads first page or quick and easy searches. So, I was just advising (and encouraging) him and others to think about that. I wasn't trying to demean him or anyone else at all. Heck, I often catch myself going the long way around.
Similarly, posters on BOL start generic-titled "Question" threads to ask a very basic question even though it literally and obviously only takes 1-2 clicks on that site to get the answer. It's actually a sizeable problem on the BOL board due to the large population of posters. However, the staff does a pretty good job of promptly and politely answering those questions for them. Some posters even waste more time and effort by repeatedly searching for their "Question" thread and bumping it.

Had not heard of Aaryn Parks before.
He was committed to Penn State and just flipped to Oklahoma Sept 19.
So he is expected to flip again? Ok.
OT highly rated 4-star by Rivals, Low rated 4-star by 247.

It appears that BOL "insider" does get tidbits of inside info, but he also posts stuff, such as that projected class finish, that's mainly just his own opinions. I chimed in on his post enough to show that the class finish is pretty likely to be different than his way-too-early projection. What I posted:
ETA: #1 "insider" on OP's projected finish:
quote:
I agree on getting Gilbert Jarrett, Joseph and maybe Jackson too. I agree Jayson Jones will decommit. I think Tim Smith sticks, and Jaquez Robinson too unless we flip Ricks. I also like our chances with Webb and Boutte. I don't think any of Gibbs, Parks and Burroughs will be in this class. If George decommits to go elsewhere, maybe Bama makes a push for DL/OL Omari Thomas or OT/OL Marcus Dumervil. Bama might even have a better shot with Roy and Guillory than most seem to think. Way too many prospects in play for me to try to project the entire finish this early.
Also, Bama might be able to add a couple of guys without them counting against annual signings and initial counters limits (only the 85 limit) via voluntary withdrawal replacement scholarships like they did with Tyson and Reichard. If so, it wouldn't surprise me if Grimes gets in that way or if Bama saves 1 or 2 signing/IC spots to take a transfer later or use for 2021 cycle early enrollees. We'll see.

Some of those aren't takes right now. Think Jahquez and Tim Smith stick.

Totally agree!! Would hate to lose Timothy Smith, don’t want Burroughs, (but what do I know) ok with losing Jones, George and Robinson.. even though I like him. But to keep door open for Webb, Burch(long shot) but I heard he set up his official but haven’t seen it posted. And if we get Jarrett one more of the 3 WR of Boutte, Smith, and Henderson. I think Grimes would be a great TE to go with Gilbert ! Even though Rivals he says they want me to rush the passer . I do think the Running back class next year will be weak and if we can take the Georgia tech back he’s really good . And McKinley teaming up with Smith in the middle would be epic.i think if Joesph can get his grades up he can play any DB position. Don’t think we get Ricks but would be awesome. And if we lose George we would only have 1 OL , I know he committed to USC but watch the highlights of the Mannheim kid , no way he’s only a 3 star

There aren't many guys as athletic and fast as Grimes is for his size. Great combine results, so assumed to have big upside, but he's pretty raw and hasn't been real productive yet -- a project, whether at DE/OLB or bulked up to DE, or at TE. There's 2018 film of him running sweeps as an HB-TE, but none of him blocking or catching passes. I haven't checked his SR film. He really wants to be at Bama -- willing to redshirt, put in the work to be developed well, wait his turn etc. Per Hank and Tim it depends on Bama having room and feeling it makes sense to take him.
Joseph redshirted and didn't play his first year in Juco to focus on academics. He's doing well on that front and is on track to graduate in May with three years of eligibility. Earlier this season, he got banged up, but he's back to playing now.
So far, the 2021 class isn't as deep as 2020 is at RB, but it's deep at TE, OL and DL. It's still their junior season now, so there'll be more top talent emerging. The #1 RB has already visited Bama back in June and that went very well.

What’s your opinion or hear say on Smith staying committed?

Hank has a good rapport with Tim Smith, talks to him and other good sources regularly and right now feels pretty confident that he'll stick.

I don't my want that kid anywhere near Tuscaloosa. He's trouble

Yea I'm pretty much over bringing in kids that show signs of that stuff.
I'm not saying he does, because I don't pretend to know what kind of stuff coaches see as deal breaking and the kind of stuff they know they can beat out of a kid..........but we've had enough of all that IMHO.

I tend to agree, Cobra. It appears Evan's brings along a high risk of troubles, such as negative impact on RB room and team chemistry, ending up in the portal, etc. I'm also concerned his attitude and behavior issues could be pretty deeply ingrained -- similar to Cowan and Anoma. I do wish the kid well, no matter where he goes.
I don't think Bama really has a pressing need to take a risk on him. So they might be passing on him -- and vice versa. But it's not clear at this point. Per Tim and Hank, Bama is keeping tabs on him and staying in contact sporadically.
Although "buzz" had Evans initially leaning to ATM, then Bama, then UGA and now LSU, with more twists and turns still possible, maybe he's kind of gone full circle already and getting close to committing. He's visiting LSU this weekend instead of nearby A&M and then taking his OV to LSU for their game vs AU.
There's chatter he may then commit to LSU. Wiltfong (247) and Spiegelman (lead Rivals mod for Evans) have both said LSU is now the frontrunner. Evans' grandma lives in Baton Rouge, and former LSU players coach at Northshore HS and they do push kids to LSU.
Maybe ATM could still pull him due to proximity and less PT competition. But assuming his mom could stay overnight at grandma's home in BR to attend night games, that may undermine ATM's proximity advantage. All of that said, Evans is pretty unpredictable.
Eta: Per the LSURB, Northshore's long practice kept him from visiting LSU for their game vs UF.
