Petty's decision has nothing to do with Sexton. If KY offers he's gone. If not he's ours.

Troy Brown is going to KS. His sister is already there. Plus he's probably a top 5, maybe top 3 player nationally; not 12-15 or wherever he's ranked.

How are you feeling about Sexton, Herb, Reese, and Hammonds right now Gongora?

Alabama basketball coaches and players spoke today:

quote:

Avery Johnson: "Our team's working hard. We've had a pretty grueling offseason, to say the least. ... I like some of the things I saw."

quote:

Avery Johnson on transfer forward Bola Olaniyan: "He's been a rebounding machine." Players backed that up, too.

quote:

Avery Johnson: "Every shot is a good shot" for Ar'Mond Davis. He took Johnson literally when he said every shot's a good shot.

quote:

Avery Johnson on front court: "We have strength in numbers. We don't have to wait on guys like we did last year."

quote:

Avery Johnson on competition in the front court: "Lots of competition. We've moved guys around a lot in practice."

quote:

Dazon Ingram, Corban Collins and Avery Johnson Jr. are the main point guards, but Braxton Key can also play "lead guard," Johnson said.

quote:

Avery Johnson on decision to add second grad transfer in Bola Olaniyan: "I thought we needed more competition in the front court."

quote:

Avery Johnson on Donta Hall: "He's been working on his little 12-foot jump shot." He's made a few of them in practice.

quote:

Avery Johnson: "We cannot be 329th in offensive rebounds if we are going to have success." Also said they have to have better guard play.

quote:

Avery Johnson: "I'm much more comfortable in the community, on campus. I know where a few more of the buildings are on campus."

quote:

Alabama forward Riley Norris said he thinks @Lawdagger23 practices FIFA on Xbox because he's unbeatable.

Petty's situation seems a lot like Dazon's a couple years ago. If UK wanted him, they get him. If not...oh well, I'll stay close to home. As far as Sexton goes...yeah I'm losing hope. Especially if Brown goes to Kansas (which i actually am doubting...no disrespect to Gongora.)

Damn ya'll are melting hard. This must be what it feels like when other programs are going head to head with Alabama for a football recruit.

If we get Herb, Reese, and Giddins that is a not a bad haul.

Haha not melting..Here is my best guess on what will happen. I'd love to see your predictions too, we can see who guessed the best...

I have Rayshaun Hammonds going to Memphis
I have John Petty going to Kentucky
I have Troy Brown Jr. going to Kansas

I have 4-Star Alex Reese coming to Bama
I have 3-Star Galin Smith coming to Bama

Alex Reese & Galin Smith will join 4-Star transfer Daniel Giddens. That right there is a very solid class.

Here are the wildcards.. Collin Sexton & Herb Jones.
With Dazon being a PG & Sexton being a possible Combo Guard, I don't see Herb signing here if Sexton does. I think Herb waits to see what Sexton does. We'll get 1 of them, but not both.

so, I'm saying either...

Sexton, Reese, Smith, and Giddens

or

Herb, Reese, Smith and Giddens

Just curious, but why do you say that? Herb is like 6'6 and will see most of his time at the 3. Sexton would want to play with a guy like that, I'd assume. Should be no competition for playing time between those 2. Just my opinion though.

Reading this board makes it hard to keep my optimism but I like our chances with all. Here's why:

Sexton- he's a scorer. Nobody will put the ball in his hands more than us. He could put up crazy numbers at UA. Couple that with his relationship with staff and I still think we're the team to beat.

Herb- he's already been everywhere. If he were going elsewhere he would have committed by now and wouldn't take a last official to UA. We've also been recruiting him the longest. We need all the shooters we can find. Should be solid contributor by soph season.

Reese- we need PFs and his game is perfect for what we do offensively. Could develop into a star under our staff.

Hammonds- I'm least confident in this pick at the moment. Sounds like he's a 3/4 but we like him more at 3 and think he has NBA potential. I worry about Miami, Tech and UGA.

Matter of fact he said "could be big news. probably is and maybe double"

Cecil is in close with the Bball program and recruiting. A lot more than people think.

Avery tagged the men's basketball account in that and they quoted it with #BuckleUp. They usually don't do that. Must be something like a commit or two.

Every time I see the name Reese, I keep thinking about the white walk on we had about 10 years or so ago.
