I'm not an expert and I'm also not sure we will be better next year.

A lot of variables (Hall, improvement of specific guys, PG play, maturity upgrade, Mack). We certainly could be, but I think we'll be hard to peg down in preseason.

Need senior leadership.

It’s a tale of two seasons. What IF Riley Norris never got hurt and Braxton Key never was out during the first part of the season

Now that we’re safely in The Dance, is anyone else going to be pissed and feel like we pissed away all the positive mojo from the SEC tourney if we get prison raped in the first round by a mid-major like Vermont or Murray State?
I know the goal was getting there and I’m glad we did. I really won’t be disappointed if we get bounced by a P5 team like a Miami or Va Tech. And I know when you get to this point, everybody can play ball but dammit, I’m tired of being a notch in the belt of the Kent State’s of the world.

for those of you who are "xperts" what makes you think next year will be better.

Define "better". While I don't think we'll be a team capable, of blowing out a true top 15 team by 28 points like we were able to do this year, I believe you'll see much more consistency from next year's squad that will make them seem better record wise. Consistency tends to come with more experience. Like George said, there are a lot of factors going into next year. I definitely see Hall coming back, but if he doesn't that definitely changes things.

Hall got better so Giddens has the potential to get better.

I don't think INgram, Jr. and Key got better. Key was hurt so I am going to throw that out.

I would not be surprised if one of our freshman transferred to another school

We won't be playing a mid major in round 1 so it's kind of moot

I am hopeful The Tide will make the field. My expectations is for Bama to get into the tourney most every year and win the 1st round game and every now and then get into the sweet 16. I don't expect Bama to get further than 16.

That's because we haven't won a tournament game in over a decade. If we made it to the Sweet 16 5 times in the next 8 years, but never advanced beyond that, you'd start to get a little pissed about it.

As I watched the Pac12 title game last night I realized.... DeAndre Ayton and Cardale Jones could pass for twins.

I said at the start of the year winning one NCAA game would be a big accomplishment. i'll stand by that.

I don't really see us winning more than that but who knows?

Regardless, we are dancing and that's an accomplishment. 351 teams and we are one of the 34-35 at larges, not bad.

Yep. That was the frustration with Wimp's teams. Sweet 16s were regular happenings, but you were always frustrated because we couldn't take the next step (see 1985-86 and 86-87). I'll forever hate Rick Pitino and Billy Donovan for 1987.

Had there been an internet then, you can rest assured there would have been a vocal group of fans saying it was time to move on from Wimp after following up a sweet 16 loss where the team was a legit final-4 contender with a losing season.

Of course, as recent seasons have shown, sometimes you don't know how good you have it. Wimp level success would be nirvana right now.

I agree. Making the field was my major expectation for this season. I didn't care for the way we went about doing it, but we got there. Anything that happens going forward is a bonus. In terms of potential, this team could make it past the first weekend but they could also lose by 15+ to a mid-major in the first round. Game to game expectations with this group are pointless.
